I wonder how many directors could get a 'great' movie out of Pacino, Pesci, and De Niro?

I am watching this abortion of a flick.

The CGI is ass. Watching a 'younger' De Niro 'beat up' the grocery clerk with those listless punches and kicks was hilarious. Watching these old men try to even look and act middle-aged is ******* comical.

    Thor 2 > Irishman.

Abe, you're not very cultured or sophisticated. I think you should stop watching movies and throw yourself off of a bridge.

That's the Thanksgiving spirit. Nothing like telling a peace corp volunteer to throw himself off of a bridge.

    1. I’ve never seen the Irishman.
    2. Scorsese is still a beautiful example of human artistry.
    3. I don’t need any prompting to throw myself off a bridge right now.

Poor example at least in terms of judging Scorsese. He has a pretty solid list of great films in my opinion even though Shutter Island isnt one of them. These are all worthy though,

    Goodfellas
    Taxi Driver
    The Departed
    The Wolf of Wall Street
    Casino
    Gangs of New York
    Cape Fear
    The Color of Money

Every single one of these is a classic. And at least four are complete masterpieces.

    Shitty takes, King.

Goodfellas and Gangs of New York are my two favorites on that list.

I never understood why a GONY gets the hate that it does. DDL as the Butcher is mesmerizing. One of my all time favorite characters and performances. It's right there with Robert Shaw as Quint in Jaws or Heath Ledger's Joker for favorite movie characters of all time.

Who hates Gangs of New York? That movie is incredible.

Gangs of New York - good movie, not great.

Goodfellas - a shitty version of the Godfather with an all-star cast that carried the movie. Good movie, definitely not great.

The Departed - oh wow, another easy to figure out twist ending with an all-star cast that carries the movie. Good Movie, not great.

The Wolf of Wallstreet - the best parts are attached to Robie.

Casino - wow, look, another all-star cast with a basic mafia story.

Cape Fear - this movie sucks ass.

The Color of Money - more like the color of shit.

The Irishman - CGI'ing a younger face on an old actor that is supposed to be middle aged but looks sixty with a dye job, because the actor is 90 years old...and has a dye job.
