Default Former Raider RB Justin Fargas to be a Bronco soon?

Former Raiders RB Justin Fargas scheduled to fly to Denver tonight to take a physical and try to finalize a deal with Broncos. Deal likely.

I hope this doesn't mean that Moreno and Buckhalter are in worse shape than has been reported.

he's not a lead back, but i've always liked the way he runs with determination and vigor.

plus, there's a certain cache to being able to say "the son of huggy bear is a denver bronco."

I like the depth now with Moreno, Bucky, White and Fargas.

Moreno and Bucky are more versatile but White and Fargas both are tough downhill type runners. Moreno is deffinitely our most talented but I think we just helped lighten the load a bit.

Moreno seems to be ok but it's Buckhalter that always seems to have nagging injuries. So, if he's here great if not then we have a little insurance.

I like this signing. Fargas always runs hard and he adds the element of speed to the backfield.

Buck is going to see a specialist, so his may be worse than we thought.

McFadden and Bush. Dunno if they want him as a 3rd stringer.

good move. We need RB in the worst way. Toney baker is prob on the outs headed to the PS-

I am not a fargas fan as I do not think he is that skilled as a RB. I think he is just average, but the guy does give it his all and runs hard every single time. For that I commend him and enjoy the signing.

The faid cut fargas, because michael bush is much better and they have run dmc....

I bet fargas and knowshon are splitting reps weeks 1-4. Then when buck and white are back fargas goes back to being a FB and a #4 RB.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

Default Broncos about to add RB Justin Fargas

    http://blogs.denverpost.com/broncos/...n-fargas/4370/

Pending a physical, the Broncos will add former Oakland Raider Justin Fargas to their banged-up running back core.

Adding Fargas became necessary after the Broncos’ top two running backs, Knowshon Moreno and Correll Buckhalter, went down with injuries on the first day of training camp, and then the first guy signed to fill in, LenDale White, went down in his first true training-camp practice with an undisclosed leg injury.

Buckhalter visited with a neck and spine specialist in Philadelphia and should now be cleared to return to practice after the Broncos’ preseason game Sunday at Cincinnati.

Moreno probably won’t return until after the second preseason game Aug. 21 against Detroit. The addition of Fargas likely means White will need to hurry up and get healthy if he wants to make the team. Already, he will miss the first four games of the regular season to serve a suspension. White, the former Denver South and Chatfield high school star, needs the preseason to prove he can help the Broncos starting in week 5.

Fargas, 30, rushed for 1,009 yards on 4.5 yards per carry in 2007; 853 yards in 2008 but only 491 yards in 2009 as he gave way to Darren McFadden and Michael Bush.

Fargas played especially well against the Broncos in 2008, rushing 97 and 107 yards in two games; and had a 146-yard rushing game at Invesco Field in 2007.

Thanks to MasterShake for my great signature

I guess so! I always thought of him as a good back, never realized he was already 30.

McFadden hasn't been all that impressive since college!!

if he can just rip the fade twice a year, it'll be worth it for that alone. . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

I've always thought he was a pretty good back..doesn't sound like a bad signing.

Now where is OR? I fully expect him to chime in telling us all how washed up
    the guy is.

I noticed Fargas a couple years ago when we blew out the faiders to open the season. By the end of the game you could tell they had all given up, except for Fargas, he continued to run full speed, with attitude. Thats the type of guy I want on my team.
