    Default Mobile Tned

    Hey Tned,

I am curious about this. Since you have a separate account for your mobile device, did you set up a mobile site for access? (i.e. m.broncosforums.com) There are times I'd like to sign in on mine, but, as you can imagine, the normal site isn't very user friendly on a mobile phone/device.

    Thanks,

    Joe

Good question. I just got an LG Voyager (like an IPhone kinda) and would like to be able to access this site from my phone.

I tried, but it wasn't very reliable. I'm about to head off to Europe for a few weeks, but when I get back I will try and dig into it and get a decent one setup.

For now, I have a Windows Mobile 6 phone (Blackjack II) and use the Opera Mobile browser (have to pay for after a trial) and it works pretty good, but still would be much better if it is a streamlined site.

This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

How do you like the BJII? I have the BJI I upgraded to WM6. I really like it so far. I've had it for a couple of years now.

I bought the BJII a week before the WM6 for BJI came out. So, I am not 100% sure which features are BJII and which are WM6 improvements, but I really like it.

The actual feel/look of the phone isn't as nice, unless you get the Wine version which has a matte type feel to it.

The bigger screen is much nicer, even though it is only slightly bigger. I find browsing much better. It's been long enough that I can't remember all the differences, but I remember thinking it was a nice upgrade when I bought it. I sort of had my hand forced because my BJI started locking up and restarting on its own.

The biggest difference between WM6 and 5 is Mobile Office functionality. The keyboard on the BJII is better and the wheel that's on the BJI side is not on the new BJII. I don't use the wheel much because I use it left handed and the wheel is made to be used by the right thumb I think. The BJII has a full numeric keyboard with no other keys between them. The BJI has a column of other keys separating the numbers.

I do like the Home screen and certain other features of WM6 better. It is more customizable. I'm trying to decide if I want to upgrade to the BJII or not is the reason I'm asking.

I think there are more dedicated keys on the BJII. I am torn on the close number keys, vs. the BJ1 style. The BJI basically let you have a key buffer if I remember. Meaning, if you hit the 5 or the letter to the right of it, you got a five. The keys are tight on the BJII and I have a harder time typing a number without looking.

I initially hated the new wheel on the BJII, but have gotten used to it and like it.

LOL, the topic of this thread made me think of Tned driving the book mobile.

I think I might like the wheel on the BJII better too since the one on my BJI is nearly useless to me. Maybe that's why they changed it because it doesn't work for left handed use.

Tned, just wondering if this was still a possibility...with the amount of PPC's and mobile devices, it would be nice to have a streamlined forum for QVGA and VGA devices... I use Opera browser and it has some built in tools for making websites mobile friendly but nothing like a dedicated mobile site. I have visited other forums that offer a mobile edition and it works pretty good.

Hey Reid, sorry for the delayed response. I've been swamped lately.

I agree. vBulletin doens't provide a standard mobile site. I found a couple mobile themese/Styles, but when I tested them, they had problems. Both of them were designed for older versions of vB. Since 3.8.x has been out for a while, I will look around and see if I can find anything.

Also, vBulletin is getting ready to relase version 4.0. I'll check to see if they are including a mobile site. I've already purchased the upgrade, because they increased the price pretty substantially, and then gave people a discount if they upgraded their licence before Nov. 1, even the product isn't released yet. It is such a major change, we likely won't switch over until the offseason, no matter when it is officially released.

So, I'll check on whether a mobile site is included in vB 4.0 and will look again for a mobile style for vB 3.8.x.

I'm with you, I would love to have one, but the ones I tested had too many problems.
