I've said this before; I suspect the reason I think Mexican food is so friggin' boring is because I've never had it out West. Mexican restaurants, owned by real Mexicans, are EZ to fond, but the food is usually bland and uninteresting.

Italian food, OTOH, is pure brilliance - if its done right - and we're not just talking pasta and pizza here.

I think you are spot on with that line of thinking. Pizza at least is far better the further east you go. Id say most submarine style sandwhiches as well.

    GOsh damn Im starving.

Kraut burgers, man... The old lady makes those and they are awesome. We used to get ours from a place called "Annes" on 16th street I think. I like mine with jalapenos...

There is a place off 92nd? I think- they have 10 tamales for $5....red and green- and that green is HOT- normally hot is just a zing at places, but these tamales make your nose start running...So good though and cheap.

Mr.B's company is owned and run by people who live in Connecticut. There are a few places Mr.B LOVES to go to when he has to pass through NYC to get there (his favorite is Nobu's [sp?] when he can get in). But what he really enjoys is when someone from back east comes to Denver and says something like "What the hell is a breakfast burrito???"

They are never the same again.

Wait.....what? People don't know what a breakfast burrito is? Those poor unfortunate souls! That is one of the most brilliant foods ever created, if done right.
