Default Need some advice - starting DEF

    Hey Guys,

I'm hoping for you opinion on who you would start this weekend if you were me.

I have SD def and NO. I just picked up NO because out of who is left in the FA market they seem to be the best choice. Here is my problem.

SD did great last week but they face NE at NE. I'm thinking SD may get roughed up this week.

I picked up NO cause last year they had a pretty decent D. They opened up against Indy which we know can make a good D look like pop warner. NO plays Tampa this weekend who had 6 points last weekend against Seattle.

    Tampa looks weak....

    What would you guys do?

    Thanks =)

honestly, it's pretty much six of one and a half-dozen of the other. . . for me it would depend on how your league's scoring system works-- NO probably won't give up a lot of points, so going with them is probably the safer route. . . i'd say the chargers will be awfully fired up to play NE, but i think that team lacks heart, so it may not help them-- we'll see if NE can play as well as they usually do without cheating. . .

“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

One of the leagues I'm in has the same 2 defenses.

I'm playing NO. I figure the Saints will do better against TB than SD will do against NE.

i think it does depend on scoring. if you get lots of points for turnovers and sacks then id say maybe go with sd- as they should have some.

but new orleans on the other hand probably wont do a whole lot of turnovers or sacks, but they will most likely keep tampa to a minimum points wise

if it was me i would go NO

Yeah I pretty much agree with everyone here. NO would be the much safer bet, and I'd go with them. For SD to disrupt NE, you'd be betting against Tom Brady, and that, like Jean Claude would say, is the wrong bet.

I'd start SD if turnovers plays a large role in your defensive scoring.

NE probably won't have their heads in this game given the circumstances surrounding them this week. Last time they got together SD intercepted Brady 3 times and forced 2 fumbles, although that was at Qualcomm.

TB will be looking to make a point this week after getting embarrassed in Seattle.

No not really given that scoring system...

How much for yardage and points totals...?

Maybe NO def is a better option...

    Points Allowed 0 points (10)
    Points Allowed 1-6 points (7)
    Points Allowed 7-13 points (4)
    Points Allowed 14-20 points (1)
    Points Allowed 21-27 points (0)
    Points Allowed 28-34 points (-1)
    Points Allowed 35+ points (-4)

    Yardage not a factor.

    Leaning to NO I think.
