Default So I got a ticket yesterday...

I got pulled over passing someone 80 in a 70 mph zone. This was my second ticket in 3 months, looks like I need to stop speeding. Now here is the good part...

The Texas State Trooper who always pulls me over is Officer Donald Johnson. I'm not making this up. Humorless SOB as well. So, knowing I was going to get a ticket I wait until he gives me the ticket to sign and asked him,

"Hey, Don, where is Detective Tubbs today?"

He gave me a look, told me that he didn't know a Detective Tubbs, and told me to drive safely.

Do any of the rest of you have a ticket story or how you got out of a ticket story?

There's quite a few places it does, you just have to know where, and where not, too hand it over with your license.

Near a military base? Keep it in your wallet, and if asked, deny.

I didn't get out of a ticket as much as I bought my way out. A Mexican cop took 300 pesos(30 bucks) and let me go on my way.

When I was stationed in Yuma that was almost an every weekend occurence. We'd drive down there all the time, and if you;re driving around in Mexicali or any other border town with american plates, expect to get pulled over.

For sure. I've still got Colorado tags on my truck. I constantly get stopped at military checkpoints. They're always cordial. I think basically they are looking for guns and drugs. It helps that I can speak just enough spanish to get me through it.

    Cry like a baby!

Haven't been pulled over for a really long time. I was probably 21 or so and it was late at night and I was hustling down Wadsworth to go pick up the ex from his job at Coors. Arvada cop nabbed me....gave him a good story and a few tears and he let me go with a warning. Being a woman is good!

I have a few poilce officers as clients.

One day, one of them is in paying his bill, and he asks to speak with me. I come to the front and he tells me that I owe him big-time.

I was totally confused and asked him why.

He tells me that a couple weeks ago he pulls over this young lady for failure to yield at a stop sign and she started giving him this sob-story of how it was an accident and she wouldn't do it again, and how her husband would just kill her if she got a ticket. . .. because he was an insurance agent.

Of course, she hadn't mentioned any of this to me, so I had a fun time later asking her about when the last time she got pulled over was.

I was a little disappointed in how skillful she was in trying to hide this. She turned beet-red when I told her that the cop that pulled her over was my customer.

I don't have good got a ticket story. I did write several tickets one Christmas day. I would say most of the people didn't like me telling them to have a Merry Christmas as I handed them the ticket.
I knew a man a long long time but I never knew him at all. Small in stature, big at heart but he always stood tall. In my mind he could do no wrong misunderstood all along. He worked hard all his live to get what he had. He was a little rough around the edges simple in mind but always had a kind eye for me. I will miss you Dad.

Bingo. I've gotten out of a few tickets for that very reason...one of which was 126 in a 65 in my '94 Cobra with a 408 and KB 2.2 Blowzilla twin screw blower on the 101 and 75th Ave in Glendale, AZ. I was actually driving back to my house from my future ex wife's because my dad's ex wife slipped in the shower and knocked her head on the tub. My dad wasn't home and the ambulance was taking its time (she couldn't drive herself, obviously). I handed him my Military ID, told him what was going on, and was escorted back to my house by the DPS officer.

In Abilene though, the cops don't care. They suck.

I got a speeding ticket on Thanksgiving day once. For FIVE over. Like I said, don't let cops around military bases know you're in the military.
