I was actually driving back to my house from my future ex wife's because my dad's ex wife slipped in the shower and knocked her head on the tub. My dad wasn't home and the ambulance was taking its time (she couldn't drive herself, obviously). I handed him my Military ID, told him what was going on, and was escorted back to my house by the DPS officer.

In Abilene though, the cops don't care. They suck.
I think it's a Texas thing. The State Troopers are pretty full of themselves.

Can't say I wasn't speeding, but around here if you are going over 5 mph over the speed limit they'll give you a ticket most of the time. I got pulled over and given a waring for going 3 mph over the limit, I knew he would give me a waring so I didn't go off, but damn dude, quit wasting my time.

That's when I was in the military but in my defense it was in the housing area and all the kids were out playing at the time.
I knew a man a long long time but I never knew him at all. Small in stature, big at heart but he always stood tall. In my mind he could do no wrong misunderstood all along. He worked hard all his live to get what he had. He was a little rough around the edges simple in mind but always had a kind eye for me. I will miss you Dad.

While I was living in Canyon I got pulled over twice within two weeks by the same Officer Martinez for 6 over the limit.

In both cases he wrote me a ticket for doing 61 in a 55.

Both were within a month of the new 70 mph speed limit being introduced. It had already been approved, they just hadn't put up the signs yet.

I was steaming pretty good, especially after the second one.

In Feb '07 I got pulled over in Seymour TX by a local cop and he gave me a ticket for following too closely...I drove to Wichita Falls to buy the '92 Mustang I just sold in April...my buddy was in front of me in my '03 Mach 1...I got a ticket for following my own car too closely. Recockulous.

Texas Highway Patrol is the worst out of any that I've encountered, and that's saying something.

Yea, my bad. They are the Highway Patrol because the State Police used to be only for protection of the governor or something. Either way, they suck.

Cops pretty much suck. More so Springfield Illinois cops, but in general I have found them to be arseholes.

Texas cops in general suck, whether they're Staties, Highway Patrol, or local cops. I've never had a pleasant encounter with any of them.

A lot of the cops around here are stupid as hell. I got pulled over one time because I was driving with my cell phone out. The law is that you have to be 18 years or older to be able to do that. Ok, fine, he pulls me over looks at my ID and stares at it for a long time. I could almost see the dude start counting on his fingers and toes to figure out how old I was.

Speaking of cell phones while driving...I just bought a badass Kenwood deck for my Tacoma. It's got Bluetooth and a little screen/speaker deal that emits and picks up noise, so you can talk on your phone while driving with the Bluetooth deal. I'm pretty excited.

How much did that run you? After the incident with the cop and one of my friends dying in a car accident I stopped messing around with electronics in my car.

I love it. I've got a JVC KN-nx5000 in dash GPS with bluetooth etc. I've got a mic mounted right next to my drivers seat and when someone calls it mutes the music and their voice comes through the truck speakers.

    King - I paid 500$ for mine.

I saw a JVC one at Best Buy when I got mine this morning, but I'm bias towards Kenwood and it was only about $50 more. I paid $250 for mine. I have to find a place online where I can get the plastic replacement panel for the dash in my truck because the whole setup where the stereo, CD changer, buttons, etc is all one big metal piece.

my head unit is old, but when i bought it it said it did the same thing. i looked all through the book and menus and everything and cannot for the life of me understand how i'm supposed to set it up.

like i said, it's old; it's only supposed to pause or ATT the music when it detects a phone call, but it doesn't and i don't know how to use it. pioneer

It's probably capable but it needs an add on accesory. Most radios don't come with blue tooth, but they have the ability. Pioneer most likely makes a bluetooth receiver that plugs into the cd changer.
