Default Would you be interested in participating in a Fiction Forum?

Wookiee is curious (as am I) in the interest level for another forum for writing fiction. Fan fiction, Sci fi, romance, western, I don't think anyone cares. I think the beef/cswil thread in the Lounge is all 4 of those.

I know the poll results are not balanced, but I'm looking to see who would be bold enough to put forward their own writing, who would write and help others improve their own writing, and who would just kick back and read. If there are 2 writers and 34 people willing to read, it's just not gonna go that well. If there are no readers, then even 8 or 10 writers won't help much.

And if you're not interested, feel free to say it or just not reply at all - those numbers help make an informed decision too, but it's mostly a guage for the number of people expected to participate in some fashion.

If we build it, will you come?

Just reply in the affirmative, or the negatory.

    Danke.

I would read serious work, but would not comment, out of respect for the hard work you guys would put forth and my inability to come across as serious.

I will read and write homosexual prose, and also comment on it.

    Yes...
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

I voted read and comment. I would have voted for simply reading but that was not an option. I will most likely read but don't know how much commenting I would do.

I would read, but I can't write for shit. I always enjoy a good story, though. Also, I'm not shy about giving my opinion, so long as everyone understands it is constructive criticism and not badgering.

i would have classified that one as horror. . .

in answer to the original question, i wouldn't mind checking out people's work from time to time, but in all honesty i'm not convinced that there would be enough interest to keep such a forum afloat. . . you never know, though-- i know we have some very capable writers here, and if T's down to provide the bandwidth it can't hurt to give it a shot. . . if it does happen, you should let T1014 know-- i'm not sure if she writes prose or not, but she's a gifted young poet. . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

I voted 'read and comment'... I would love to read peoples' stuff... I would love to write more, and would maybe submit something every now and then, but I didn't think probably often enough to say that I would contribute as a writer... not ready for the commitment, I guess, though I am working on it some.

I think it's a great idea, though, and would be excited if it got going.

I would enjoy writing and reading other people's work. I suck at grammar, but the ideas are what counts. That's why writers enlist proofreader's help! God bless the proofreaders of the world.

For the people interested in actually writing, could you please send G Money a PM telling him how serious you are about it. Don't just say " Yeah I'm serious" and then when the time comes, not write anything. If you say you are serious, mean it.

We just need to know if this idea is even possible.
