It occurred to me that the Mods whack members for "personal attacks" here, but that in some cases the poster may not really understand why that post has been cited while others have not. There really is a rhyme and reason to what we are doing, but I thought maybe a thread where we give some examples or answer questions might make sense. I'm going to post a few examples; in the first case a perfectly acceptable post, in the second an unacceptable personal attack, just by a slight shift of words.
Example One
"It would be moronic to bring Jim Bates and his sorry defensive scheme back to Denver"
or
"You are a moron for wanting to bring Jim Bates and his sorry defensive scheme back to Denver"
Example Two
"I think it takes a heartless SOB not to make the rich pay their fair share of taxes"
or
"Dreadnought, you are a heartless SOB not to want to make the rich pay their fair share of taxes"
Example Three
Jake Plummer is...
No, I'd best just leave that one be
Subtle differences, but a world of difference to the Mods. Thoughts? Comments? Questions?
