A bus lost your bags. Sorry but Hahahaha how the hell does that happen. The driver simply shoves your crap under the bus. He must have not liked you and left your shit sitting on the side of the road.

It sucks to lose your crap thou. The airlines once lost my bag then I lost my baggage claim crap so I was SOL. Then almost exactly one year later the bag suddenly showed up on my front deck.

And now, American Airlines is going to charge $15.00 for the FIRST bag you check.

Yep. Brilliant move. Now everyone is going to carry on even more crap. Unreal. I'll be curious to see if the other airlines follow suit. If they don't it'll be short lived.

The term "artificially" was probably not the best choice, but the US (notwithstanding the oil producing countries) has always been well below others in terms of price for fuel.

I have a feeling this fee will double by Christmas! I don't fly anymore unless i have to and I've never taken a bus except when I was shipped off to MEPS en route to boot camp in SD!

I think people would be more "understanding" if they just added a fuel surcharge to the price of the ticket. The Airlines (most, anyway) just don't understand how to run a company.

Maybe, but probably only 1/2 of the people that fly check a bag. So, theoretically, they could charge 1/2 of the $15 to everyone.

I agree - but the way the airlines present changes is pretty stupid. Charging for checking a bag to offset fuel? Doesn't make sense. Raise ticket prices. Add a fuel surcharge.
