    Default Dead Bodies

    Yes/no?

I'd say no. The argument that one can "see it on T.V." doesn't have any merit because not everyone actually watches T.V. I can see the posting of pictures under some circumstances, inwhich maybe respect is being paid, perhaps... but posting pictures of the dead just to illustrate that they are dead is disgusting.

    IMO.

I would create a poll if I were you, I think, NUB.

(I'm a little more sympathetic in this forum.)

    After thinking a bit...

    Let him keep it.

Let people be reminded that men are willing to die because of injustices around the world. Guevara died fighting for a noble cause against regimes that oppressed their own people.

That's what a man does when he sees something wrong. He fights the wrongs to make it right. So, Bravo to beef for recognizing Guevara's sacrifice.

Ok, I haven't been on for a couple days (needed a mental break).

Can someone bring me up to speed on 'why we are talking abou this? What I am reading between the lines is that there was an event that prompted this thread.

As to the question in general, I think we need feedback from as many members as possible as to if, and in what situations, it is ok or not.

Would anyone have a problem if I dug up some pictures of Pablo Escobar? Or did he not slaughter enough innocent people?

I guess it depends. Cswil brings up a good point. Its probably going to come down to who agrees with what and what person. My best guess is if it offends someone/anyone it shouldnt be put up. Personally i dont care, but if someone likes Saddam Hussein and wants to put up dead bodies that he is responsible for does that mean its ok since the other picture was put up? I would think not but you never know and do you really want to open the door on this forum for that? I just see a bit of conflict there as if you allow one you have to allow them all because of difference's of opinion. IMO

I really can not see where pictures of dead bodies add anything worthwhile.

Give me a break. We wouldn't be having this discussion if it was a dead body of someone else. The only reason CR has a problem is because it involves Che.

Regarding the topic, there should be limits on posting pictures. Pictures of gory nature, showing blood, guts, missing limbs, etc, should not be allowed.

The picture that Beef has in his sig should be fine. That person could be laying on a bed for all any of us know.

Problem is, there are so many things we can do, just in the normal procedure
of things. that offend somebody. I'm not worried about one or two people
becoming offended. If, out of the 667 or so members, one single member
becomes offended, well, what can I say? The door swings both ways. There
are things I don't like, too, but I'm just one person.

It is the general population about whom I'm concerned. If something offends
several of us here, that's what I want to know about.

True, but isnt that a bit hypocritical at that point? I mean, from what im reading (correct me if im wrong) is its ok if your board is 90% pro-american (hypothetically) and they can post whatever they want since they are the majority. But if 10% of the board is anti-american they cannot do the same? Keep in mind these are just examples and im not claiming this board to be one way or another. It just sounds a bit unfair to me which is why i think its best not too allow any of it so that it doesnt show any favoritism one way or another. But thats just my opinion.

Well, I was talking about one or two people. Ten percent would be more like
70 people, wouldn't it? As I said, if several people stand up to talk about it,
then we need to listen. Does that make sense?
