Thread: Gameroom - Betting

This is a pretty easy question that I think can be answered. I'm really looking forward to the betting option in the gameroom when the regular season hits.

My question however is what forum would we post things regarding betting options in the gameroom? I'm guessing fantasy? but not really sure.

Also I remember the old "Bump until we get a KRTD" or other threads like that. Could we do a sticky regarding betting, and perhaps someone knowledgable in vegas type of sports betting to setup a real persistent and stable betting option in the gameroom? I'm not so well versed but perhaps others are. There's a thousand options really regarding it including fantasy football and the thread where we guess the winners that week (forget what it is called and am to lazy to do a search). BAsically I guess I'm wondering the best way to implement it into some of things we do do, and if we have betting specific threads, where to place them?

That thread was called, I think, "pickem". I would not like to see that in the gameroom, but rather remain in Broncos Talk.

I would to, but I'd liek to see the option of doing game room betting tied with it. I don't think the two should be exclusively combined, but some option to use game room betting when you feel confident in your picks.

That would be fun - keep the main one in Broncos Talk, and have some kind of version of it in the game room.

Well I hope so, unless I lose all my fake money

I'm hoping for the two to have the option to be tied together which what that little rant would be all about.

Anyhow, it jsut seems like a really fun option in the gameroom, and I guess I'm wondering how everyone thinks it could be best utilized beside myself, and where best to discuss it if you want to make disagreements about how things will turn out a little more interesting.

Not sure if the two could be tied together, as Tned gives the weekly winner something for winning.

TH is the area for discussing things like this. Hopefully more join in, and especially Tned, as he would know if things, other than what are in the game room now, could be added.

i like the idea of using BF bucks to bet on games.
also we need to add a "biggest loser" catagory to the stats area....i am down over 200,000

I must have missed something.....I didn't know there was going to be a betting option in the gameroom once the regular season started.

I know TNED works hard on the "pickem" every season.....and I thought he or someone mentioned going through Yahoo or something like that for next season to make it easier and less time consuming.
I do like going over to the casino....it is something different to do.....so I would be all for any additions to it.

We won't be replacing the pickem with anything in the casino/gameroom. However, it does have an option to do sports betting. I have glanced at it, but haven't dug into it, which I plan to do when I have more time.

Anyway, any betting done in the casino will almost certainly be separate from the pickem.

As to the pickem next year. I wouldn't want to use Yahoo or something like that, because I would hate to use something where people have to create a second login and go there to do their picks. I think we would see participation drop. I was hoping to dig in and do some PHP programming to build a pickem into BF, but right now time is flying by and I doubt I will get a chance to do it before the season starts.
