I haven't lifted until recently since before I left the military. Been over four years since I last stepped foot in the gym. Been back at it for a couple months now. I'm amazed at how quickly my strength has come back. I think a lot of it is muscle memory, but I'm pretty happy. Not lifting like I used to 4-5 years ago. Just making sure to hit the big lifts as often as possible with some auxiliary work sprinkled in. Not doing much cardio due to time restrictions (getting to the gym at about 4:15am and have to be home by about 5:20 so my wife can leave for work on time). Been doing a ketogenic diet off and on for the last 14 months or so and that's been a big game changer for me mostly because of the HUGE reduction in inflammation.
