My first game: 1996 Divisional Playoffs Jacksonville 30, Denver 27. I'd gotten tickets through my dad's co-worker and I was thrilled (as thrilled as a 27 year old kid could be) . It'd be my dad, me, my best friend from childhood, and 75,000 of my closest friends.
rguably our darkest football loss in the history of the franchise.
I wonder if any body else wants to join in with some memories as we get ready for a new season?
Ok, I'll get in on this.
My first memory of watching the Broncos was in the mid-80's, they were playing Cinci I think. I'm not sure if I remember correctly but one of the Bengals had a wicked broken leg that twisted in the opposite direction and they kept showing it over and over again. Denver won the game. That year they went to the SB
After that I watched more and more and then started my Orange and Blue obsession.
August 12, 1995. Carolina Panthers very 1st game was a pre-season game against Denver at Clemsons Memorial Staduim. I still have the ticket stub in my wallet. One of the greatest days and thrills of my life.
Super Bowl vs. Dallas. Morton was the QB. I decided to watch to see what the hubub was about.I was 7. I was hooked for life.
December of 1996 at Greenbay.
The Broncos were 12-1 at that point of the season and John Elway didn't play (Jeff Lewis got the start) and we lost 41-6.
I remember my 1st game. It was vs the Chiefs back in 2000.
Though this is the 1st time I went and looked at the box score from that game. I've always been to lazy to check.
Kinda funny since I go to 4 or 5 games a year now. But my 1st game I was in 7th grade and I remember being so pumped for it.

Grbac vs Frerotte
And Nedney was our Kicker. Those are the things I remember.
The rest of the stuff I have no clue what happened. And I just looked at the box score and I dont recognize a lot of the players.
We actually had a decent year that year. And that was the ONLY game I've ever been at, at the old Mile High. Besides that Montana vs Elway flag football thing they had a while back.

I can't believe how long it took me to remember. I think is was Nov 18, 1990 against the Chicago Bears. My Aunt and Uncle had seats about 4 rows up on the 50 yard line on the east side. We were right behind Mike Ditka and I was blown away.
What made me from a person that went from watching football to a person that lives Broncos was going to camp in Greeley in 1994. Back then you could hang out with players and get almost everyones autograph, that hooked me for life. I will never forget on Dec 24, 1994 we stopped at the Stadium after the game so I could wish several of the players a Merry Christmas after the game that I had gotten to know in Greeley. We got to walk in on the field on the south side, I got to talk to Dennis Smith for a little while and my son and husband were running up and down the field with the football that Dennis had just signed. That will the be the night I will never forget.
Getting Stoked
Whatever year Tony Dorsett was the RB. Mid 80's somewhere. They passed out towels with his name and number on them. It was against the Chargers I think.
Or it was the Monday night game as mentioned above. Broncos had a 24-0 (something like that) lead at half against the Raiders and ended up losing. It was pitiful....
One or the other.
BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE
On TV Denver versus the New York Jets, 1969. Denver pulled off the upset, as Mike Haffner pulled in a beautiful fingertip catch to beat the loathsome Jets. That game also had a 98 yard punt by Steve O'Neil of NY.
My family detested the Jets; my Mom loved Johnny U, and my Dad hated the AFL in general. Both hated Namath, and I learned to as well. Compound that with a general dislike in the family for all things New York City and it was a perfect storm of Football hate. Watching the Broncs beat that blowhard Namath cemented me as a Bronco fan.
In person I have seen them once, in 84 I think. A very young Elway just tortured the Buffalo Bills in Rich Stadium. That was fun to watch![]()

I don't even remember....I used to go to games as a young boy with my dad. And since then I have been to too many to count. I know Morton was the QB though for the first.
PEACE!!!

Broncos @ Vikings 1990 – Metrodome.
Elway went out at half time with turf toe. Kubiak came in and threw 2 picks. The Broncos lost 27-22.
