anyone else as excited as i am?

IGN gave it a perfect score and the game sounds amazing.

I really wasn't excited about it... GTAIII was awesome, but Vice City and San Andreas were nothing but expansion packs IMO and I wasn't overly impressed with either. Basically all the same game with different art or some finer graphics. So I figured Rockstar would do the same for GTAIV but I watched some vids and damn, looks like they actually put in some effort (finally a different aiming system!)... IMO, the best 'sandbox' game there has been is Mafia (for the PC), but this game looks like it will top it for sure.

This game is going to OWN.

My friend has been masturbating to this game for the past month. He is going to wait in line tomorrow night to get it, skip class on Monday, and smoke some weed and drink an 18 pack of beer and play it all day.

I like it how one of the creaters said of the the game ""If you let your child play this game, you're a bad parent,"

so it should be pretty good.

that's an awesome quote. that should be the tagline of the game, cause most people just don't understand that concept as it applies to many games, movies, and even music.

IGN review, 10/10:

10 Presentation
The story is Oscar quality. The use of the phone as a gaming portal is genius. There's really nothing more that could be asked for from GTA IV.
10 Graphics
The level of detail is astounding. Liberty City feels alive and lived in. While there are some technical issues, the artistic merits push the score to the max. A true marvel.
10 Sound
The dialogue makes the story. Without the excellent writing and the stellar voice acting, the story would fail. And the soundtrack kills -- more than 200 songs and almost all are great choices.
10 Gameplay
The cover and targeting system work great. Blind firing with an RPG is a thing of beauty. Everything works in harmony and not a single one of the missions is bad. The most fun I've had in years.
10 Lasting Appeal
The story will take anywhere from 25-45 hours to complete, depending on your skill level and attention span. There's plenty more to do once you finish the story, such as excellent multiplayer.

Good quote, but I also like the fact that there are parts of SA (driving school for example) that I do feel happy letting my lad play (supervised of course). So I hope the same remains true of GTA IV.

Got confirmation of shipping today, so hopefully it should be waiting for me when I get home from my First Aid course on Tuesday

I almost bought the game, but passed. I love FPS, and this is a sandbox type of game. I may pick it up for the 360, but I am heavily involved in Halo 3 and COD4 and that takes up my spare time.

There are only three games I HAVE to have this year. GTA IV, Ninja Gaiden II, and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. GTA IV is very fun so far, I will play it all day sunday probably.

Waited outside Gamestop and bought it at 12:10 am on Tuesday. Guys, this game is amazing. I can't describe it. The multiplayer is friggin awesome. Can't talk, must play more GTA IV.

I'll pick it up sometime. Haven't seen a review that didn't give it a perfect score. Heard that it's simply the most realistic game anyone's ever played...
