    Default Scheffler Next?

Posted April 14, 2010, 9:46 am MT Tony Scheffler likely next out Dove Valley’s door
    By Mike Klis Comments (3)

Brandon Marshall is gone. And tight end Tony Scheffler may be following him out the Dove Valley doors. Scheffler, the Broncos’ top pass-catching tight end, is close to signing his restricted free-agent tender with the Broncos, a move that _ as the Marshall situation taught us _ is a formality step preceeding the team’s ability to trade him.

At that point, the Broncos will have completed an UnHoly Trinity overhaul of sorts as Jay Cutler, Marshall and Scheffler _ three of the biggest weapons from the Mike Shanahan era _ will have been traded away in a span of 13 months.

Broncos' Scheffler will sign tender, clearing way for trade

Tony Scheffler will sign his tender today, a transaction formality that transfers the Broncos' tight end from restricted free agency to the trading block.

Brandon Marshall, the Broncos' No. 1 receiver, signed his $2.512 million tender Tuesday and was traded today to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for second-round picks in the 2010 and 2011 drafts.

Scheffler will sign his $1.176 million tender today with the understanding the Broncos need to control his rights before they can trade him.

The Broncos hope to get a third-round pick in return for Scheffler, whose 13.7 yards per catch tops all tight ends since he came into the league in 2006.

    A 3rd? Not likely.

You know North.... you sure do use a lot of childish insults against a person you refer to as a baby.

Certainly more a o sure thing than TS is.

HE could not wait to have the season end.

Got his ass set down for it.

HE has ZERO use for the DEN offense if he can't block on the LOS.

So clear him out for what ever you can get for him and move on.

WHO cares what he did before if he can't block a DE enough to slow him down he is as worthless as a tit on a boar.

Yeah, because losing Scheff's 34.5 catches, 474 yards, 3.5 TD's per year and matador blocking are going to keep us from winning the super bowl.

Or maybe get rid of the players who don't give a shit about the current team they play for... You know... Like Tony Scheffler, Brandon Marshall, and Jay Cutler...?
