I like it...I've been reading up on it. Just hope it's on the Bureau's list of approved FA.

I also like the grip. I have a bigger hand, I can't stand the shorter grip on some pistols, like the Glock 27.

The nice thing about the Walther, is it comes with three different grip backs, so you can pick your fave. But the grip itself, is jut very comfortable. I literally had the H&K .40 in my hand to buy, and picked up the Walther... and immediately changed my mind. THe dealer wasn't overly thrilled since the HK was about 300 dollars more.

The grip is also why I picked the p22 for a girlfriend I had in the past...because of her small hands, the grip was just so comfortable in hers. If I were to choose a weapon to have as a concealed, I would go with the Walther P22.

The Walther P99 is a state of the art approach in firearms technology as a law enforcement handgun. This semi-automatic pistol was specifically designed to meet the latest requirements of law enforcement agencies. Its design incorporates solutions to the requirements of on-duty use, combining the many advantages of a hammerless pistol with the comfort of one equipped with a hammer. The P990 is a refinement of the P99 design that offers Walther's constant Pull Trigger System specifically designed as a self defense pistol for law enforcement and trained civilians. This design is to eliminate significant differences in trigger pull between the first and subsequent shots.

I just showed this thread to my step dad who is a licenced gun dealer. He does ship out of state, but not to California. He went to the DOJ website that explains all of the red tape that he needs to go through to do so legally, but he simply can't make sense of it. He also said that because you are in law enforcement, he may be able to ship it to you directly. However, he will not do anything until he know what he is doing is legal. If you can find out what the red tape is, and tell him where to find the information, he would be willing to do business with you.

That's great news...I will look into it and see what I can do. Thanks a million!

forget that noise, ben-- you're in LA, you need some firepower!

“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

which gun you end up with and how much was it? I think I am going to buy an ak47 from one of my buddies it has a bipod, red dot sight, 40 round and 75 round mags, and about 2000 rounds of 7.62x 39 ammo. all for only $700.00.

I have also been looking into buying a Taurus Judge, it sounds fun to be able to shoot 5 410 shotgunshells out of a handgun.

www.budsgunshop.com has alot of guns for great prices.

Wow can't believe I missed this thread. What did you end up getting?

Nicest handgun I've ever fired was my buddies Kimber .45 pro. Hell of a gun, but over the $600 budget for sure.

I didn't read any of the responses, but you can't go wrong with Springfield Armory. I have an XD45 and an XDM40. I love both weapons equally and carry both weapons concealed all over the place. I paid a hair over $600 for both, but got both when they first came out. You can get either for under $600 now.
