Default Mcnabb to rams gaining steam...

I saw it earlier today, but didnt post it as it looked like an unfouded rumor.

But apparantly now NFLN is also backing up the rumor that Mcnabb is headed to stl for the #33 and oj Atogwe.

Make with it what you will.....

    I still want bradford.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

I heard the interview with Reid today, talking how they are open to trade ideas..... this could then open up the idea of them getting another position.. OR.. smarter yet, trading down and letting another team get Suh, and filling other needs. Like OL .

Why would Reid be open to trading a " Franchise" QB?

Is He Nuts? You just don't do things like that. He should be fired.

Eh... That is sort of calling the kettle black on our parts isn't it?

If true I am confused. Vick certainly isn't an upgrade, nor is Kolb. Hell, I don't think Vick is even serviceable as a backup, nevermind starter.

I don't know Davii, Kolb played pretty well when he played last year. Give him a few more games to get comfortable and I think he'd be immpressive.

I agree, I think kolb is pretty impressive. He needs a little more experience but should be solid.

For the eagles, mcnabb while better and def a top notch QB is older and the #33 is basically a first rd pick!

Getting a first rdr for mcnabb is great value imo. Now the eagles have excellent ammo to negotiate the draft.

McNabb still has to agree to it...dont count on that happening.

nevertheless, if I were the Rams, I'd probably prefer going with the youth movement and building that way. McNabb can probably give you another 5 years, but by the time the Rams are ready to compete again...he'll be done.

and by that time they will have more pieces. Its either trade for McNabb now, and then use the picks they have to build at other positions, or draft Bradford.

But with the #1 pick, they may be able to move down, and let someone that wants Suh move ahead and then gain a few more picks. Then you have a QB, use the pick you move down to, to grab a OL (obviously not knowing where they would go, but can't be TOO far down since not many can afford to move up to the #1 spot)

If you don't think Bradford is the guy you want to go with for the future, then this may not be the best time to take that QB. Drafting Suh as the #1 pick is expensive for a DT, especially when you just used a top pick for a DL last year.

Yeah, I honestly wouldnt want to be in the Rams position. if I was, I'd be looking for a package to give up that #1 pick. Suh, McCoy, Berry, Okung...none of them play a position worthy of the 15 million dollar price tag that comes with the first pick. So if they arent convinced that Bradford is the answer...then what? maybe they trade for McNabb, but then what do they do with the draft pick?

Too many variables and none of them are great.

    All very true.

I guess, when you trade for McNabb, it gives you options. If you have McNabb on the roster, thats not a bad guy to have on the team if you can NOT trade that 1st pick away and take Bradford. That gives you at least one year of starting McNabb... and (depending on contract) still have him around afterwards.

I think because Suh is there, that there will be a team that would be interested in moving to that 1 spot ahead of Detroit (although, if I were Detroit I would take that top OT instead of Suh).

Like you said, who is worth that money OTHER than the QB? I don't think the DT is, but someone might be willing to take that chance.

It's a tough call. If I were the Rams, i personally wouldnt trade for McNabb. if I wasnt convinced Bradford was a franchise guy, I either seek a trade or just take the guy I think is the best overall player if I have to. Whoever it is had better be a golden boy because Billy Devaney wont touch anyone with even the slightest character question

well, the rams need an LT very very badly. They need an OL actually. #1 might be too high for an OT, but they still need one. And if they can get mcnabb then they can try to get their own Ryan Clady at #1. I think thats a good way to start a draft.

Solid QB, and LT to anchor the line for a long while.

Problem is...they'd have to give up pick #33 for McNabb. So they get him and let's say Okung, then they have to wait til the third to get snother player. I just dont think McNabb has more than maybe 5 years left in him and I think the Rams are probably that far away from seriously contending. The trade doesnt make much sense to me.

I think the 49ers are a team that should get into talks about this. Add McNabb to that team with a solid draft and suddenly they are competing for the division title...which they have a decent shot at already...if they had an upgrade over Carr and Smith
