lancane, your mock skills have much improved in regards to DEN!
    Props!!!
If by chance Walton does fall into the third and he is there at our pick, Denver will take him, even over Gerhart. As you say, he really fits the new scheme and has the mentality that McDaniels should be looking for. We know the coaches and scouts have looked at him already.

I'm on the Iupati bandwagon, but I like this draft! The 'reach' cliche is getting old, every effing draft choice is a reach because none are proven NFL players. I like the focus on the lines and for the Pouncey fans, even though he has the potential, reading from outside opinions other than here and probably more football knowledge as well, say Pouncey has many question marks!!

Iupati is a tremendous talent, and at one time I pondered him being the first pick for Denver or even Trent Williams, and it could change. The thing about Iupati is that he tends to get abused sometimes when he is pass blocking, as far as being a run blocker, he is without a doubt the best guard in the draft, of course there are times that he is right on and is a monster either way...so I will not discount him as of yet. Pouncey has the physical ability to be a Top 20 pick, but it's everything else that has sort of distorted his value in the eyes of the scouts. He could have gone as high as 11th, but I feel he will likely be taken in the late 20's range.

holy crap. Your mock and mine were identical. I now changed my slightly so as not to look like a follower.

    Still- Very nice job!
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

It doesn't make you a follower, I hate when people look down on others and label them like that. I will tell you this, never change your mock to accommodate or placate others. The most sound advice I can give is to not care what others think, I have been met with heavy criticism over the years, you should have heard the bullshit I got last year when I said Denver would still draft Moreno. But I also love it when I am right and prove those who said such things wrong... It's like a 'Choke on that' type of feeling.

Same. I made a cp bet with 5 people at BM that we would take Moreno first overall.....Not one single person paid up either, after like 5 pages of arguing before hand that we would. All i heard was no way, we dont need a RB. I guarantee we dont take a RB before 3rd rd, yadda blah bull.....

As for changing, until we get within two weeks or so of draft I am fairly confident it will change again, at least mine will.

I think you did a nice job with your mock Lancane.

I still hope we take a nose tackle like Cody or Williams, but like you said the most important thing is to get players that improve the team.

good picks but I doubt they will be there when we pick in those rounds.

Not sure we need a WR unless BM leaves if he does then we have other picks to get one or more other positions.

And we might, I would love to see Cody in a Broncos' uniform, and said as much last year. The problem is value, no one really seems to know where Williams, Cody or Odrick's value puts them, some have them going in the second, some late first and others as high as mid first. Denver may value them more or less then other teams, it's hard to tell. The big problem is the amount of holes we have, we know we need a center and guard, that is pretty common knowledge. But we might need a tackle too, after all Ryan Harris is an unrestricted free agent after this year. Whether or not we keep Marshall the offense has to improve and become more explosive...which means we need offensive weapons. Where as the defensive unit has only gotten better if not just for the fact of our free agent signings. So we may use one or two picks on the defense, but I do believe this will be a very heavy offensive draft.

We need to get better offensively, whether or not Marshall remains a Bronco. McDaniels is a well-rounded coach, but we all know he was hired because he was considered an offensive genius. When you take the second overall offense in the league and turn it into a mediocre shell of it's former self, it tends to reflect on you. I think McDaniels knows this, we need to get more explosive on offense, we have bigger concerns on the offensive line then we do on the defensive side. Denver will still likely try to add one or two more picks, of that I am pretty sure, and I do see us trying to add one or two defensive players with those picks, the rest I believe will be used to try and improve the offense.

    Nice mock 'Cane.

I especially like the fact that you don't include wildly improbable trade scenarios just to make it more interesting.

I wouldn't bitch if things shook out this way.

    Thanks Slick.

And it's not that I could not have added those scenarios, but it's all speculative at this point. Chances are 50-50 at this time that Marshall will be gone, I still see a high possibility that he returns as well. But until it happens, well...why speculate until then on which way we go. I do believe Denver will try and move out of the 11th overall spot, I think they have too many second round prospects that they are high on and moving down would help them in that aspect. I will say this now, don't be surprised if New England trades their first and a second to move up to 11th overall to get either McClain or Pierre-Paul. Another thing is that if Marshall is not traded before the draft and especially before the end of the first round, there is a chance that at the beginning of Day 2 look for a possible trade of Marshall to either Tampa Bay or Cleveland for two of their second round picks.

Denver could literally end up with three to four picks in the second round, where we know that some of those they are high on will be likeliest to go: Ducasse, Walton and Gilyard among them. I know that sounds wildly predictive, but that is how I see it. There is a very likely chance that at least one if not all three of those I mentioned are Broncos come the end of the draft.

I also tend to believe that Josh will follow the NE scheme of moving back to pick up sev eral more 2nd and 3rd round choices.

Still lots of talent there especially on the LOS players that this team needs for the future.

Would love to have a couple more TOP 100 picks.

Agreed, when you take the depth of the line talent on both sides of the ball in this draft, having more picks would be a plus.

In an article over on MHR ("Denver Broncos Mock Draft Part 23"), a poster
(Sayre Bedinger) presented a trade he would like to see happen: New England
trades picks #22, #47, and sixth rounder for pick #11. His reasoning is that
NE's WRs are getting a bit long in the tooth, and they would be after Dez
Bryant to infuse some youth into that group.

Sayre then has the Broncos using #22 to grab Pouncey.

Now, picture this: The Broncos tell Seattle, okay, you can have Marshall for
your #14 if you throw in a 4th.

So now the Broncos nab Iupati with #14 and Pouncey with #22. Harris, Kuper,
Pouncey, Iupati, and Clady across the offensive wall.
