Thread: Official private workout thread

this is a thread to list the private workouts we have before the draft....

keep in mind this is a great tool for figuring out who we may draft....every player we drafted last year came in on 1 of the 30(i believe??) private workouts each team is allowed....

MCD looks for team captains, college production, team leaders, smart players, hard workers etc...his chracter risks are done in UDFA where the risk is limited ...

I like the idea and when draft comes it'll be a good comparison to see how mcDaniels draft players vs the ones he worked out. I believe I read somewhere the players he worked out last year, he drafted!

I like seeing him focus on the oline and if Gerhart is as much a bruiser as he was in college, I'd be excited to see him as a BRONCO!!

every player we drafted came in for a private work-out, so its actually a good judge on who they are looking at....and at the very least it tells us the positions they are looking at

Broncos to hold private workout for RB/KR Dexter McCluster

Ole Miss' Dexter McCluster told Scout.com that he's already conducted a private workout with the Cleveland Browns and has another one scheduled this Thursday with the Denver Broncos. And at the end of the month, he's scheduled to hop on a plane for an official visit with the Tennessee Titans.

After finishing second all-time in all-purpose yards at Ole Miss with 4,089 yards, McCluster is drawing interest from teams as a running back, wide receiver and returns specialist.

QB- Tony Pike-NO. I would take a blind Brady Quinn over this guy.
WR- Marty Gilyard- Meh. We have Royal, but whatever.
C- Matt Tennant- A little light, but hes supposed to be good.
OL- Valdimir Ducasse- Perfect fit at Guard in MCDs O-line.
C- JD walton- Perfect fit at Center in MCDs O-line.
RB- Toby Gerhart- Sure why not?
RB/WR/KR- Dexter Mccluster- Could be a steal. This guy could be the next Darren Sproles

Montario Hardesty

Hardesty said he's had contact with 14 teams since the season ended and is working out Friday for the Denver Broncos ...

The projected first-round pick said he would be working out with the Denver Broncos, among other teams, in the ensuing weeks.

I did say this was likely to be a very offensive heavy draft for Denver...but nooo, the fans scream for defense...lol.

No, what jumped out at me was the fact that we haven't worked out a single player that would justify being taken with the 11th pick. Not one top name there. I guess there's still a month before the combine, but so far the Broncos have only brought in 2nd round and below caliber players.
