*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

They kind of are. Already had a "comeback tour preview" concert in LA, and already have a tour planned out...

Listening to Tiny Songs from the Vatican...what I notice is STP's ability to step away from grunge and make a pop album. Weiland even shows some ability to sing swing with "And So I Know." Meanwhile, they merge that grunge sound with pop music, by incorporating power chords with melody, something not really seen during the grunge era. You also hear Robert Deleo bring back a few guitar solos into the bands music, which had been lacking in the first two albums. I think it was actually progressive in and of itself. It was released two years after Cobain's death, yet it sounds like it was five or six years later as grunge died off. Too bad other bands didn't have that foresight. I hear a lot of Foo Fighters in this album, actually...

I thought it was an excellent album.

To each, his own, I guess. I thought that was one of the worst songs they ever did. It didn't help that it was horribly overplayed as well.

The overplayed was the real problem. I think it was progressive in the fact that it played off of post-grunge pop before post-grunge pop ever happened...
