Default Schefter Guarantees Rams take Bradford #1 overall.

I thought this was interesting. Adam is like a god at this. What he says is fact- even though it has usually not happened yet. He could be wrong, but this is what he said....

PS- I cant do a link. You should know that from me by now. BUt someone at BM posted it and it was from his twatter.

I hope not though. I wanted us to get bradford.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

I AM surprised that no one found this as interesting as i did.

I could definitely see STL taking a QB #1, but I figured they would go for an OT or Clausen, not bradford with their #1 overall. Oh well.

if they waste the #1 on him, they should all be banned from working with any team in the future...

If they want him, they should trade down and get another pick or two...

Its not that easy to trade down though. Everyone says this but no one wants the #1 overall. Every year we hear teams trying to trade out of it and never hear anyone trying to get up to it.

They cant trade down. Tampa, was, and whoever else is at 1,2,3,4 dont need to trade up to get their guy. And if the rams really want him, they will not let Washington pick in front of them, on the chance that they could take bradford.

He is worth the #1 overall.

    yeah, I think you're right.

The way I see it, this season has no CBA, if they're not following those "rules" why follow the money scale for drafted players? Don't pay these guys that dont deserve anything yet

A few of us have been saying all along that Bradford was the top prospect in this draft. I'd usually call BS on this, but it's Sheffter. The Rams could probably trade down to 3 and get Bradford there, since both Detroit and Tampa have thier QB's already. Gutsy call by Adam here. It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Hmmm.. that is interesting. But if thats the case, then they find a way to move down. That, or.. they do what the chargers did with Manning-Rivers. They draft Suh, and trade him to a team that agrees to draft Bradford. Then the Rams can get the guy they want, and get some additional picks.

I can't see the Rams staying at #1, and taking Bradford. I think he's the best in the draft, but when you can get him a bit lower, seems someone around 4-5 would be interested in trading up only 3-4 spots to get Suh.

What sort of idiot doesn't take Suh with the overall #1? I guess that's what makes them the Lambs...

I'm not so sure about that. Suh isn't the 'unquestioned' best player in the draft. He wasn't considered the best player in football before the Texas game.

Plus, the Rams have spent top picks on the DL for a couple years now. You can only have so much money at one place on the field.

QBs already make the most amount of money in the NFL. Spending that kind of money (1st overall) to a QB makes a lot more sense than it does to give that kind of money to a DT when they aren't making that kind of doe.

Plus, the Rams of all teams... know just how important having a good QB is to a team.

I don't think its just a given that anyone should take Suh as the 1st overall.

Well, I could point to 2006 when the Texans had the choice of Mario Williams, Reggie Bush and Vince Young. Three years later, it looks like they made the right choice even though they caught hell from everyone and their grandmother (particularly in the media) for choosing Williams.

A big, quick body in the middle that blows up plays and ties up two blockers on every play makes the whole defense better. But, go ahead, choose a QB with a history of shoulder problems. That's what makes them the Lambs.

Oh, and if you think Suh only got noticed after the Texas game, you weren't paying attention. He was blowing up plays all season.

It's too early to tell whether or not the Texans made the right choice. Right now they have the early edge, but it's only been 3 years. After the first year, the edge was given to both Young and Bush. Time will tell.

As far as the calling the Rams the Lambs because they might take a chance on a possible franchise QB, I don't get it. Drew Brees had the same shoulder surgery by the same surgeon years back and now he's a hall of fame QB. This is part of what makes the draft so much fun. Everyone thinks they know who will and will not pan out in the long run. In the end, nobody really knows until about a decade later.

if you suck as bad as the rams then how do you NOT take a franchise qb??? the rams have way too many areas to address to build around a nt. it is much much easier to build a team with a future qb that has all the tools to make it in the nfl. plus spag is great at finding talent on the dline so i dont think they will break the bank for suh.

I don't see the comparison. Most didn't consider Vince Young to be a franchise QB, and certainly not a passing QB. NO ONE thought the Texans should take Vince Young with the #1 overall pick. There wasn't very many that throught Young was the best QB in the draft, not to mention the best player.

I also don't compare taking a RB as the same as taking a franchise QB. RBs are MUCH more common than a RB.

The QB is the central point of any team. Considering they've spent the last two years using their first round pick on DL, I don't see your point. Where has it gotten them? It makes MUCH more sense to take the chance on the MOST IMPORTANT POSITION IN PROFESSIONAL sports, than to use yet ANOTHER pick on a DT/nt/DL.

How do you build a team around a NT? You don't, thats how. You build around a QB...especially a team that needs so much, and doesn't have a starting QB on the roster.

I would not take Bradford at #1...

Suh seems like the right choice at #1 right now...

That's who I'd take anyway if I had the first pick...

IMO...and many others...McCoy is the better of the two DT's. In today's NFL, I take McCoy first. His interior pass rushing skills are better than Suh.

But regardless of how talented Suh and McCoy are...a franchise QB trumps ALL. If the Rams feel Bradford is a franchise QB, then they have to take him.

The flipside...Is a DT or safety worth 10-12 mil a year? And even more when it's time for their 2nd contract? I dont think so.
