Yes I do need to add that info in- I managed to add it to the surround sound page- but not the HT package page- I'll make a note of it!

I am going to look through some other more colorful templates- thats one of the great things about mambo- you can change the templates and boom- the whole site is different- then you have to go back and fix all the little quirks that happen to put text/pics in different places etc- but really it is not that bad. Tho I looked over a lot of templates and picked this one because I liked the layout- I can change the background colors and banner pic if I please- I liked the sun/birds because the name of our company is infinity solutions- and the sky reminds me of infinite possibilities
I will definitely look to add some more color tho
My hubby's is the 23rd. He tells everyone on the 23rd of every month it is his birthday. Wrong month.. right day! Most people do not have a clue when his REAL birthday is! I will pm you! He loves BIG sound! He is worse than most teens. He has made the garage his playroom. He has his computer.. T.V. X-box and games.. music, mini fridge, easy chair... and now I want to add to his enjoyment with surround sound. Will get in touch when I get closer to purchase. Good luck with your business and website!

I know- maybe that is too much to ask of (some) people who seem not to care about peoples feelings- but it was really my bad for asking... and not remembering (some) people don't care about others feelings especially when they type things online.
Honesty is hard to appreciate when it takes no heed for someones feelings.
It was my opinion that it looked rather "boring" (not enough color, as I stated in the first place) and non-professional. Those were my honest feelings. There wasn't an easier way to put it for me. I wasn't intending to be negative, or lack "delivery" -- that's really just how I felt - and I explained why I felt that way. I'm not sure what more you could ask for.

I'm used to people in the design community not taking things personally when I tell them that, or even I'm told that.

I apologize if I sounded like I lacked accountability for feelings; but I gave my honest assessment; and it wasn't meant to be insulting. I'm just not a fan of templates like that. I enjoy color, sort of like Crutchfield's site. I thought theirs looked well.

It's a start though, and I hope your business goes well. Just trying to help with my comments, no bad intentions were meant.

Try adding some color to the banner first. I like it other than that the banner blends into the site and doesn't stand out.
I knew a man a long long time but I never knew him at all. Small in stature, big at heart but he always stood tall. In my mind he could do no wrong misunderstood all along. He worked hard all his live to get what he had. He was a little rough around the edges simple in mind but always had a kind eye for me. I will miss you Dad.

    Impressive Melissann, impressive!

I wouldn't add too much color though, as part of the attraction to me is the gray tones, and then when you scroll down, it makes the home theater look magnetic. Either way, you have a very nice website. I thought it was easy to navigate within as well. Very attractive website.

Personally, I could give two shits what color the web page is. I don't care if it's hot pink or periwinkle as long as the services provided are good. Not everyone enjoys the same things you do. She picked a plain color that is common in electronics and it goes well with the site and services she is offering.

The idea of a page with photos of the jobs you have done or services you offer is a great idea. Way to be Clay. I like where your mind is.

OK- so I changed the template- now there will be a million little things I need to change so don't bother going to anything but the home page lol- most of the pictures will need to be swapped out- I still need to get our name in etc- but as far as color etc- now what do you think? Better or worse? Just thought I'd get some feedback before I go change everything which will take me a while.
I actually like the darker background- I know there is still a lot of gray but now there is more color (blue).
heres the link again- thanks everyone who took the time to check it out the first time- I got some great ideas.

I think it looks great. You're not in a web design competition, don't listen to some of the negative criticism. Keep working on it. You're doing a great job in my opinion. I'd let you install my system!!

I like the darker colors better. It looks sleeker and at least in my mind seems to imply more high end electronics than the lighter gray. Just a personal perference though. Either would be good.

good good- how about dream? I am interested to see if he thinks it is an improvement- since he was the one with the strongest dis like for the site (I am ready this time if he still thinks its sucks lol)... btw I was asked to make a comment that it is ok for dream to have his opinions... is it possible many times he is berated for stating his opinions?
I think it is fine that he didn't like the site- my only problem was that it hurt my feelings a bit (the way he stated his opinion)- but I am an artist and probably too sensitive... since I had been working on getting this site right for weeks... it hurt to have someone basically say it stunk... but I am a big girl- and afterward he did say he meant no harm... so at least he didn't seem to be purposely being mean spirited.

(ps thanks for all who pm'd me to say not to take things so personally, that they thought it looked great... and give me their opinions- it was very helpful.)

Looks pretty good. Just two suggestions.

TV Wall Mount & Home Audio Installations Overview page…
Can’t read the text in the tables. Use the dark blue like the other tables.
    Total Home Theater Packages page…
Drop the backgrounds on the product photos.

Yes- thats why I said don't bother going to the other pages yet lol- all the colors are wrong for this new template- I'm working on it.

Color has a dramatic effect on the effectiveness of a site or any other form
of advertisement. That has been firmly established by many replicated
studies. Products and services need not only to be good; they have to be
sold. A pretty advertisement is not necessarily an effective one.

I think that is what Dream is trying to convey.
