Default Guard a bigger problem than we thought?

According to this, Seth Olsen is the only guard on the roster who isn't a FA this year. The way that McDaniels threw the hatorade all over the O-line this year, it looks like we'll be doing more than just bringing in/drafting a guard to replace Hamilton/Hochstein.

Bringing the hate to this side of the board too HP? Figures. Our Oline has been horrible in red zone and short yardage situations for years. It needs to change. It's broken. When he does try to fix what's broken, the haters whine. When he doesn't try to fix what is broken, the haters whine. Anyone see a pattern here? Some of us have been rallying for a bigger, more talented interior line for years. I'm glad to see that we finally have a coach who sees the need also. It'll be nice to see what Moreno can do when he isn't met in the backfield by a defender every other time he gets the ball.

We could take Dez and still land an Asamoah in round 2 or 3. Other names like Jerry, Saffold, Render, Lauvao are all OGs who could realistically be better than what we currently have at LG. I do like Kuper at RG.

As far as Center goes, historically not a position that gets taken THAT early. There are exceptions like Mack last year, but a Walton, Olsen or Hawley could all be had in rounds 3 or later. Pouncey could likely be had in round 2.

We make a splash on the DLine in FA, draft Dez in round 1 and we can still end up w/ a Pouncey at Center and a Asamoah at Guard.

    Or Asamoah and Walton.

Iupati isn't the ONLY interior OLineman in this draft.

It could happen. And I rwally wouldn't be that upset. Dude is a monster. Like I said, we can get very good lineman after round 1. Right now my top 2 are Dez and Dan Williams for the 11 spot. I really don't like Iupati's holding/grabbing. Dez is much lower risk.

If we do trade BM for a 1st PLUS, I'd even be OK w/ Dez and than Mt Cody later in round 1 at NT.

Pouncey is head and shoulders above the rest of the centers in this draft. I wouldn't be surprised to hear his name called in the first round.

It's possible I guess, but lately there have been a lot of guys rising up the boards. There are only 32 slots.

In a perfect world! I'm not as hard up on Bryant as most of you. I don't see him as a Fitzgerald who is humble and talented. I see him as any other wide receiver who is talented and trouble and I don't say that because of the suspension but just a gut feeling and I'd rather for once the BRONCOS focus on the lines!

I like Dez Bryant, I just think this team absolutely needs to make both trenches the number one priority and not go for flashy skill position players. Once the lines have adequate starters and good depth then I'd like to see them take quarterbacks and receivers.

Much like the interior of the defensive line...

...Denver MUST figure this out if it wants to be playing the 'Foos-Ball, Bobby Boucher' in January.

I think Pouncey will be available in round 2. It's possible some team takes him earlier, but when you look at the teams needing interior linemen...it's mostly the ones in the middle of the order.

I dont think we need to draft Bryant...even if we lost Marshall. Lately, it seems like there are always some quality receivers available in the middle rounds. Marshall himself was a 4th rounder and there is always a Collie or Garcon or Welker or Smith, etc. available.

It wasn't about hate, bro. I was just pointing out that every Guard on our roster last year except Olsen is a FA. I was also pointing out that McDaniels doesn't like our interior linemen (as he pointed out at his presser, not me) and that the likelihood of retaining any of them was small. that's it. Stop reading so much into everything I say just because you "think" I'm a hater. I'm really not. Do I say things critical of the team and the Coaches/FO sometimes? Sure. Doesn't mean I'm a hater just because I'm not satisfied with where the team is right now. Looks like Me, McDaniels, and Bowlen see eye to eye on that, just not on how to fix it.

Fix the LOS period. Once that is sound, everything is better by default.
