That dude could ball. But I think he was an utter azzhat. So maybe they are cousins idk.

Rox traded for Kevin Pillar. Guess we needed another right handed bat to provide depth in the OF? Does this mean less time for Kemp? Not very plugged in on this one.

Wasn't Pillar one of the best defensive outfielders in the world for a while? Or am I thinking of someone else.

My wife is trying to talk me into watching them again (I won't get too political in here) but my heels are pretty dug in.

That’s the guy. From 2013 to now (when he came into the league) he’s the seventh best outfielder in defensive runs saved behind Betts, Cain, Hayward, Enciarte, Gordon and Gardner.

Tony is the one I am not happy about. His play behind the plate was more than enough reason for the Rockies to keep him.

The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired third baseman Nolan Arenado in a trade with the Colorado Rockies, sources confirmed to ESPN's Jeff Passan on Friday.

The Rockies are getting multiple players in the deal and will send upward of $50 million to St. Louis, sources said.

The news was first reported by The Athletic.

I don’t have to say anything. If you have ever heard me talk on Rox I give my perspective. There is no way around it, this trade will never be perceived well. Rox will have to see impact from minor league system, add the right FA or it will be a disaster.

I totally blame the Monforts. Can not understand what they see in Bridich, and is Black going to want to stay? Troy Renck has this very interesting article, and here are a few things from it:

The Rockies have agreed in principle to send the five-time All-Star and $50 million to the St. Louis Cardinals for a major league pitcher and two minor leaguers, a source confirmed.

This move began to come into focus last offseason when Arenado’s relationship with general manager Jeff Bridich frayed in January. Arenado told Denver7 then that “Jeff is very disrespectful. I never talk trash or anything. I play hard, keep my mouth shut. But I can only get crossed so many times." Arenado felt misled that the team was going to build around him after he signed an eight-year, $260 million contract.

The Rockies appeared to be bracing for this day when they signed Arenado to his record deal. Bridich structured the contract to give Arenado an opt out after three seasons, something Arenado did not request.

AND

have not signed any significant players and now face the decision on whether to keep All-Star shortstop Trevor Story or trade him before he hits free agency after this season. There is no guarantee Story would agree to a contract after watching the Rockies ship out Troy Tulowitzki and Arenado during his time in the organization.
