Remarkably, the Rockies' GM job is coveted around the game.
The analytical people around the game think it's the holy grail of GM jobs because the extreme environment makes it ripe to experiment and use the data to the Rockies' advantage.
Montfort is indeed a loser because it wouldn't take much for him to attract Theo Epstein or Peter Bendix of the Rays to Denver but he's not forward thinking enough to make the move.
