Axford was pitching great in the closer's spot, UNTIL he was thrown into the trade rumors.

Tulo was in an 0-20something slump before we traded him IIRC.

He's been in trade rumors for a very long time.

Cueto continued to play great. Leake's ERA was like 1.25 for the past month. Was it Hamels that had a no hitter?

absolutely killed in the 6th by the cards with freidrich pitching.

Rockies need to trade all these relievers until they find someone better then a third tier reliever.

@psaundersdp: MLB source confirms Jon Gray will start for #Rockies on Tuesday
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

There's a relief pitcher trying blow this Rockies game. Luckily, he plays for Seattle.

I presume everyone is preparing themselves for Jonathan Gray.

My excitement is tempered a bit, only because every other debut has been a disaster, and because I expect him to struggle a bit this year while he finds his way... But I'm stoked to see this fastball that everyone's been telling me about.

Apparently Denver is not as excited as I am. There's no one there.

I am proud to say that I have not attended a single game this year.

Fastball looks really lively, lots of natural movement. Slider looked good too. Not much control to start, but he's probably nervous as hell.

That change up is supposed to be his out pitch, but the only one I've seen got smacked pretty hard. Slider looks better, but he's only located down and away. He'll have to throw both for strikes at some point. Fastball is electric.

Down and away is about the only place his slider ought to be. Or down and in on a leftie hitter. He reminds me a bit of Ubaldo in that he is effectively wild - neither he nor the hitter seem to know where the fastball is going. This analysis, of course, is all based on like 15 pitches or however many he's thrown.
