Good start for the Rocks tonight.
I didn't realize how good Matzek has been in his last 9-10 starts.

He was placed on the 15-day disabled list and Colorado called up righty Jorge Rondon from Triple-A Albuquerque to take his bullpen spot.
Ottavino, 29, pitched a scoreless ninth inning Friday night against the Giants for his third save of the season. He also pitched a scorless 10th inning Saturday. In 10 appearances, he's allowed just three hits and no runs. And he has 13 strikeouts against only one walk.
"Hopefully we can nip this in the bud now early in the season," said Ottavino, who said he pitched through pain in his last three starts. He was waiting for the final results of a magnetic resonance imaging scan before Monday's game against the Diamondbacks, but his early diagnosis was triceps inflammation.

The Rockies' right-handed closer got back the results of a magnetic resonance imaging scan, which revealed an injured elbow in addition to a triceps injury.
"It's more than I thought it would be," Ottavino said. "Now I'm just waiting to find out more."

rest - http://www.denverpost.com/rockies/ci...y-john-surgeryThe season is about to close on the Rockies' newest closer. Adam Ottavino revealed Monday he probably will have season-ending Tommy John surgery to repair an injured right elbow.
Ottavino was put on the disabled list last week with what the team called right triceps inflammation. But after consulting with team doctor Thomas Noonan, Ottavino learned he has a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow.
"It was devastating news, but I want to be a part of this team this year," Ottavino said in the clubhouse before the Rockies' scheduled game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Ottavino will meet with Dr. James Andrews, a surgeon who has worked with several major-league players who faced Tommy John surgery, including the New York Mets' Matt Harvey. Ottavino will use his meeting with Andrews as a second opinion to confirm that the surgery is necessary.

Worst call I've seen in a while. And with replay. ******* ridiculous. I guess since it's just the Rockies and it's raining it's okay to absolutely blatantly **** them out of a run. **** you MLB.
Let's Rid3!!!!
Just got a Sportcenter text that said the Rockies have lost 10 in a row.
Ouch!
Nice to see Drew Stubbs get a hit in that situation.

I couldn't take it anymore. I just had to say something. The Robert Gardner Law "police brutality lawsuit" commercial that is aired multiple times everyday during Rockies programming on Root Sports was starting to piss me off so I sent them a message on Facebook. I doubt it will accomplish much but maybe I'm not the only one who has spoken up. Also I urge any of my fellow Rockies fans who find that commercial to be exploitative to also speak up.
This is the message I sent them.
You need to stop running the Robert Gardner Law "Police misconduct lawsuit" commercial. It is extremely exploitative and offensive. An ambulance chaser doing his best to profit off of unfortunate current events is not a good fit for our beloved American Pastime. I realize you gain revenue from the advertising dollars but there should be standards to the ads chosen and there is no standard higher than my shoelaces which that ad rises above. I watch Root Sports almost everyday with my family and we change the channel every time that ad airs, someday I might just quit changing it back.

Jorge de la Rosa is the Rockies career leader in strikeouts.
