I know. I'm glad I can't see it. Man, this team is really bad.

Its hard to believe that this team went to the World Series last year.

It was the perfect storm, I guess. Of course, I don't think they are as bad as they look right now. But I would at least expect them to be competitive. Very strange year.

Its still a marathon. I am willing to bet that the pitchers will start hitting their marks soon, and we will be a bit more competitive.

Things look bleak, 10 games back. Then again, when you consider there are over 100 games left to play.....

I watched the first 4 innings

Not pretty, but at least Garrett was back.

And at least we didn't give up 20 runs

Don't forget, Holliday, Hawpe, Tulo, are out of the line-up even though they were not on fire Holliday was hitting well and Tulo is a leader on this team. Struggles with not being able to put out a consistaint line-up every night just triples how bad things are. Main thing is the pitchers just can not put quality starts up. Jeminez looked so much better his last three starts and just everything he threw was hit.

That Phillies line-up is no joke. Feliz owns the Rockies, Utley is great, Rollins an MVP, Howard a 50+ HR guy, Victorino can get on base, Jenkins former All-Star, Dobbs is a good role player, Burrell is a beast, no breaks at all in that line-up.

See if the Rockies can get anything going heading into the 4 game set against the ubs this weekend. Reynolds on the mound tonight, youngster lets do it!

This team is struggling on all fronts right now. Pitching, hitting, injuries...the deck is definately stacked against them.

I think losing players like Tulo, Holli and Hawpe have had a big impact on the morale of the team, and losing Barmes when he was shining as the back up SS is a double blow.

The majority of these guys have worked their way up to the Majors together, and they have developed a chemistry.

Good to see Spilly shining though!

Alright. I demand the Rockies start to win some games. I want to see a 10 game winning streak. I blew $150 on four tickets for the game on june 11, my parents are coming to visit so I'm taking everybody to the game. I want to at least say this isn't the worst team in the NL. Don't make me drive to Denver and whoop some ass fellas......

Well this is nothing new for us Rockie fans. We know what losing is like. Not much you can do with this many players on the DL. You can be as mad as you want but what do you expect from a line-up that is loaded with youngsters and a pitching staff in shambles outside of Cook? Players have to play, pitchers have to pitch, just not happening right now.

With a rotation of Ubaldo (still learning to pitch), Reynolds (fastest player ever to the majors due to need and again is learning to pitch) De La Rosa (just not good at the moment and has been moved to the bull-pen), you have to be ready for let downs. Francis just has not been able to step up and provide that number 2 behind Cook which compounds the problems even more.

Playing from behind all the time with an offense that can not put up runs at the moment....It is hard to watch, I am mad, but just have to be patient with the young kids and hope that when we get some players back from the DL a spark can be provided.

Alot of info for you today!

    Rockies injury update

Jason Hirsh (strained right rotator cuff) is scheduled to begin his rehabilitation assignment Friday and throw 60 to 70 pitches for Triple-A Colorado Springs at Salt Lake. . . . Reliever Luis Vizcaino (right shoulder strain) began his rehabilitation assignment with one perfect inning and a strikeout Wednesday for the Sky Sox at Salt Lake, throwing six of 10 pitches for strikes. . . . Shortstop Troy Tulowitzki (torn left quadriceps tendon) took 60 groundballs at Coors Field and made backhanded throws, some from the hole. . . . Left-hander Micah Bowie (strained left forearm) will throw a 25-to-30-pitch bullpen session Friday and is scheduled to face hitters Monday or Tuesday in Los Angeles. . . . Left- hander Franklin Morales made progress Wednesday when he pitched 6 1/3 innings in his fourth start for Colorado Springs and allowed three runs, five hits and one walk with three strikeouts at Salt Lake.

    Hot Prospect:
    No. 6 JHOULYS CHACIN, RHP
    ROCKIES
Team: low Class A Ashevillie (South Atlantic)
    Age: 20
    Why he's here: 2-0, 1.13, 16 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 16 K
The Scoop: Chacin could well be on his way to being the SAL's top breakout prospect in 2008. He's 7-1, 1.70 on the season and is at or near the top of SAL leaderboards in several categories, including wins, ERA, strikeouts, and innings pitched. Perhaps the most impressive thing about Chacin's season is the fact he actually has better numbers at home than on the road, even though his home park is an extreme hitter's park. At home, Chacin is 3-0, 1.29 in five starts, whereas on the road he's 4-1, 2.12. He hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in any of his starts, but the innings could be piling up though. Chacin has already gone seven innings or more in seven of his 10 starts, including the last five in a row.
More on Chacin and other young prospects in Kendall Albaugh Rockies Farm Report:
    http://blogs.rockymountainnews.com/_farm_report/archives/2008/05/patience_required_with_the_you.html

On another note, MLB Draft is around the corner and the Rockies will be looking to add talent back into the the minors on all levels. Here are a few names that have been mentioned as players the Rockeis could be interested in. Rockies pick late first round, #25.

Jake Odorizzi rhp Highland (Ill.) HS
Hard-throwing righty battled Melville for Best Prep Pitcher in Midwest honors, and has put out a $1 million price tag.

    29. Brett DeVall lhp Niceville (Fla.) HS
After pitching seven innings and allowing two earned in a losing effort in the Florida State high school semi-finals, DeVall pitched in the Florida High School All-Star game and was seen up to 93 mph. Devall is still in the first-round mix and could go as high as 25 to the Rockies.

Here is Baseball America's top prospect list:

Wow, a lot of pessimism in this thread. I have a weird feeling the Rockies will do ok at Wrigley this weekend.
