I think it's a combination of two things:
1.) The fact that we inexplicably signed him to a $3 mil contract in the offseason and bailing from that in the first month of the season is admitting failure for Bridich.
2.) His role is as the mop-up innings eater. I think they feel like they'd rather develop the other guys in meaningful situations as opposed to thrusting them into the undesirable role.
