And the Rox lose another one on Sunday. Why do I even bother turning the TV on?

suck. they will leave ya heartbroke..year after year
We will see how things pan out. Right now, I feel like we should have traded DOD for a GM with patience, but that's my emotions speaking.

We also still have DLR. I'm wagering that Chacin will get his control issues figured out, and Nicasio will be our Ace after a couple of off seasons after learning at least one more off speed pitch.
Its also possible that Ubaldo peaked last year and his arm is getting burnt out with all the innings we pitched him in. I kind of hope not, because I love the guy and kind of hope he finds his way back to Colorado someday.

There were a confluence of factors, beginning with his curious mediocrity over the past 13 months and the club's desire to fill pitching gaps in a minor-league system weakened by misses on first-round picks Greg Reynolds and Casey Weathers.
"This isn't rebuilding, this is restocking," general manager Dan O'Dowd said while acknowledging misses in the draft. "Even if we were 10 games up instead of 10 games back, it would have been hard to say no to this deal."/ci_18591786

O'Dowd must also confront the scouting mistakes that made the Ubaldo trade necessary. The Rocks drafted pitchers in the first round four consecutive years — 2006-09 — and have nothing to show for it at the major-league level. The Greg Reynolds pick in 2006 — he was second overall — has been dissected quite thoroughly, but the selections of Casey Weathers ('07), Christian Friedrich ('08) and Tyler Matzek ('09) don't look much better, although Matzek, drafted out of high school, is still only 20.
He declined to detail the conversations, but said he has spent considerable time with assistant GM Bill Geivett and scouting director Bill Schmidt delving into these issues.
"When you're a scouting- and development-based organization, not that you're going to hit on everything, but when you don't hit on your number ones, it creates holes that you have to turn around and fill in different ways. It really puts you in a box, without a doubt."

Two straight collapses by the pen. Face it folks - this organization is a joke. Rockies post-Ubaldo 0-2 and counting. Hope those "prospects" were worth it O'Doody.
