I will be pissed if we get swept by the Bravos.

I got mind control while I'm here
You goin' hate me when I'm gone
Ain't no blood clot and no fear
I got hope inside of my bones
I was worried at the start of the season with everyone expecting the Rockies to do well, they struggle when expectations are there.
Cooks' sinker sinks no more, he is just a batting practice pitcher now.
Just one of those periods where the Rockies also don't have that next pitching prospect in the chamber. Niasco up, Chacin doing what he was billed to do, Ryenolds has been a bust.
This team is the "2nd half team" but I just don't see the pieces to do that, sure Tulo/Cargo are legit but Ubaldo going to win 15 games? Hammel going to be a #3 starter?
I see us fading down the stretch unless the offense suddenly goes back to being one of the best in baseball. The pitching rotation is just not MLB-caliber right now.
In theory, we have the offensive and bullpen talent to compensate for a bad roation - we just can't put it all together.
Great pitching by Ubaldo tonight![]()

GEEZ - they just reported on KDVR in Denver that Cincinnati wants Ubaldo, but the Rockies won't let him go - UNLESS IT IS A PERFECT FIT![]()

I'd take that in a heartbeat...but Cincy would never let that much go. The point is trying to strengthen their team, and letting an MVP candidate go, a young fire-ball throwing closer and a starter would hurt them more than help them in the pennant race.
Ubaldo for Chapman/Votto/Cueto would be an absolute pillaging, and I can't believe Cincy would do anything that drastic...
I could see the Rockies considering a Brandon Phillips/Prospect/Prospect deal, say Cueto or Homer Bailey and another lower-level prospect like Yonder Alonso.
I also can't believe that the Rockies would be STUPID enough to get rid of a young pitcher who proved what he can do - i.e. ONLY perfect game for a Rockies pitcher, among other things. And, I have wondered if some of Ubaldo's problems is with the catcher. About a week or so ago, Mark Schlereth was discussing Ubaldo, and he said that the best thing the Rockies could do for Ubaldo was to bring back Olivo. Mark then said that it is so very important the chemistry between the pitcher/catcher. Ubaldo worked best with Torrealba and Olivo.

If Ubaldo can't pitch to anybody but Olivo he will not be worth keeping around. He is a grown up major league pitcher, get comfortable with other people.
Ubaldo has a funky delivery, very stiff arm pointed out by former MLB pitchers that make him for some reason great and very average.
Rumors will always happen, have to pick up the phone and listen unless someone is calling on Tulo or Cargo.
I am not on the trade Ubaldo bandwagon but the Reds no doubt have interesting players not named Voto as trade bait.
