So Barmes was flipped for Paulino, a fireballer end of the rotation or 7th-8th inning guy. Barmes had pop and played defence but just never took hold of the position batting average never helped.
I know some don't see EY Jr. as a long term fix at 2nd, the Uggla rumors are done now, so it will be interesting to see what happens. EY of course will be on the roster for his speed and ability.
Why arent people confident in EY jr at 2nd longterm?
More about defense then anything. Has the chance this offseason to show if he can do it full time or not. He was OF mostly coming up through the system.
Looks like 7yr $150mil extension for Tulo! Build around a core of Tulo/Cargo I'll take that.

Tulo for life.
It has a nice ring to it after the Rockies pulled off a bold doubleplay with their franchise shortstop and top free-agent pitcher Monday. Colorado has signed Troy Tulowitzki to a seven-year, $134-million extension that will carry him through the 2020 season, according to a source with direct knowledge of the negotiations.http://www.denverpost.com//ci_16737976The Rockies have also agreed in principle on a deal that secures Jorge De La Rosa's return. It's likely to be a three-year contract, worth roughly $30 million, pending a physical. However, the possibility of it shrinking to two years exists, allowing De La Rosa to enter free agency sooner.

The Rockies negotiated an historical contract this week. And it's not the one you think.Since the franchise's inception in 1993, there's no documented evidence of a Rockies' free agent starter taking less to stay in Colorado. Until now.Jorge De La Rosa rebuffed more lucrative offers to remain a Rockie, his two-year, $21.5-million deal official Friday after he passed his physical.http://www.denverpost.com//ci_16772406"Why did I do it? Because I wanted to be a Rockie," De La Rosa told The Denver Post in an exclusive interview. "People ask me about how hard it is to pitch in Coors Field. I have always liked it. I can get strikeouts, and groundballs. And I like the city and fans."

Colorado's pitching looks great for the future.. Jimenez, De la Rosa, Matzek, and Chacin will be very exciting to watch in the next few years.
Padres have just conceded their season if they've traded Adrian Gonzalez for prospects from AA and A ball.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Rockies are willing to give Carlos Gonzalez an unprecedented contract for a player with barely two big-league seasons on his resume. They would be open to a six- to seven-year deal, the length of which would guarantee Gonzalez in the neighborhood of $100 million, according to owner Dick Monfort.http://www.denverpost.com//ci_16812598"I am hopeful, yes, that we can get something done," Monfort told The Denver Post in an exclusive interview Wednesday.

http://colorado.rockies.mlb.com/news...s_col&c_id=colDENVER -- It could be said that Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez arrived as a star during the 2009 playoffs, but he showed in 2010 that he is here to stay.
Gonzalez's eye-popping performance in 2010 -- his first full season in the Majors -- earned him Breakout Player honors in the Greatness in Baseball Yearly (GIBBY) Awards, as determined through comprehensive This Year in Baseball balloting. Winners were calculated based on votes by fans at MLB.com, media, front-office personnel and MLB alumni.
