A wild one today, but the Rockies win 11 - 7. Did anyone see where Dexter jumped to catch a ball, and his glove went over the fence? He did not wait for someone to get his glove for him - he jumped over the fence, threw the glove back onto the field, and jumped back over the fence. I am sure that will make plenty of sports highlights tonight.

Interested in adding depth and creating more options, the Rockies have brought back free-agent second baseman Kazuo Matsui on a minor-league deal, according to a major-league source.
General manager Dan O'Dowd was optimistic after speaking with Matsui's agent.
Matsui told Japanese reporters Monday night that he was excited to be back with the Rockies.
The Rockies are trying to repeat the success of their 2006 experiment with Matsui. They acquired him from the Mets, put him in Triple-A to regain his footing and watched him evolve into one of the best players on the 2007 World Series team.
"We are looking to do something similar to last time. Put him in the minor leagues and see where he's at. There is no guarantee of a call-up," O'Dowd said. "We all remember the magic of 2007. But I also know that this is 2010."
Matsui recalled his days in Denver fondly last week just hours before the Astros placed him on waivers. He became a free agent Monday. His preference was to land a major-league contract, but the Rockies were considered the favorites to sign him.
Matsui, 34, lost his starting job with the Astros after hitting just .141 in 27 games. Houston is responsible for the remaining $5 million on his contract, less the major-league minimum salary he will draw from the Rockies.
Japanese teams had expressed interest in Matsui, but he wanted to remain in the United States.
Catching up.
With the season just past the quarter pole, the Rockies' front office will soon begin discussions on potential personnel changes.
One player who should soon be back in the mix is catcher Chris Iannetta. Since his demotion last month to Triple-A Colorado Springs, Iannetta has hit .349, including five home runs and 21 RBIs, in 63 at-bats.
"He has addressed his swing mechanics, shown a great attitude and done everything we have asked. It's getting close (to a decision)," O'Dowd said.
Footnotes.
Reliever Franklin Morales threw in Tucson on Monday and will soon begin a rehab assignment. The Rockies want him to iron out the wrinkles in his delivery, which have created wildness and left him prone to injury. . . . Second baseman Eric Young Jr., who turns 25 today, has not been cleared for baseball activities because of the hairline fracture in his shin. Since his game is based on speed, he needs to be healed before returning.

Tyler Matzek, our first round draft pick in '09, threw for the first time professionally in Ashevile yesterday. He threw for 5 innings, only allowing 1 hit. He walked 4 and struck out 5 while getting his fastball up to 98 MPH. The kid is 19 years old. Its going to be fun following his progress as he gets himself ready for the Big Show.

Catcher Chris Iannetta will rejoin the Rockies today after a month-long stint at Triple-A Colorado Springs.
As general manager Dan O'Dowd indicated Monday, Iannetta did everything the team asked after his demotion.
Iannetta hit .349, including five home runs and 21 RBIs, in 63 at-bats for the Sky Sox, regaining his timing offensively.
"He has addressed his swing mechanics, shown a great attitude and done everything we have asked," O'Dowd said.
Miguel Olivo is the Rockies starter, but Iannetta will be expected to get more playing time than when he was sent down.
Before his minor-league time, Iannetta was hitting .133 with two homers and two RBIs with the Rockies.
"He has put together enough games to feel comfortable," Sky Sox manager Stu Cole said last weekend. "He has done an outstanding job for us."

Look out, May is coming to an end and the Rockies are heating up. Not to mention, Street will be back soon as well!
With Smith getting over the flu. I hope that we handle the Brooklyn Dodgers the same way this weekend. Looks like tomorrow night's game and Mondays game against the Giants will both be on MLB TV. I for one can't wait for the match-up between the MIPITU and Timmy on Monday.

The Plan at the moment:
Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).
Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell
