Wow......
Somebody call a coroner, because this team is officially dead.
On the other hand....after losing 6 in a row, they are only 9 games back (having lost only 2 games to the d-backs during that slide). Still have a season to go, but the life support machines are failing.....
Fuentes you punk!
I am done getting my hopes up with the Rockies.
Last night we should have won.
Today, we should have won.
Why does Hurdle keep putting in Fuentes? Can we get Bucholz to be our closer PLEASE!!
And today's game, why was Reynolds taken out in the 6th with a 3-2 lead?
I am beginning to question Hurdles decision making.

Well Reynolds had runnres at 1st and thrid, and Hurdle liked the match-up of Herges vs the 29-year old catcher that was 0-11 in his career up to that point.
No way can you put it on Hurdle. Is he the one that grounded into the double play with the bases loaded? Which has happened more then once this week, is he the one that does not get the hit with RISP? And to add insult to injury the Rockeis had the bases loaded with no outs and brought no runners in. They had the bases loaded three times last night and left 13 on base.
I really don't see Hurdle as the problem, he has managed the pitching staff as well as he can, its the starters that are not putting quality starts together that is hurting the pitching.
As for Fuentes, you have to figure that the Rockies are close to lifting the white flag. You can not demote a player that you are looking to trade in the coming weeks which could bring a nice prospect the Rockies way.
FINALLY - a hit with bases loaded![]()

Well I still feel that the Rockies were to complacent (spl?) with the pitching before the season. Putting alot on Morales and Ubaldo to continue there ridiculous pace. And the one signing that I voiced against was Vizcaino, seeeing as how he pitched in at least 70+ games in the last five years. It has shown. I hope that the team is not blown up, its not like they don't have talent, just not working. I know moves are in the comming weeks just hope not the the extent that the team will be in rebuilding in the next couple of years.
Its all rumors but if Holliday did end up in LA I don't know what I would do, would be like Elway in a Raiders uni....By Tracy Ringolsby, Rocky Mountain News
Several clubs with scouts following the Rockies say indications they have been given are Colorado will decide at the All-Star break whether to deal players. And there are several players on the Rockies that teams are interested in.
The Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, Phillies, Rays, Cubs and Cardinals are known to have interest in left-handed reliever Brian Fuentes.
An Oakland source says Fuentes is not on the Athletics' wish list, but they would kick the tires on Matt Holliday but more likely would be involved in discussions for Willy Taveras.
Holliday has also has drawn interest from St. Louis, Tampa Bay, the Angels, Dodgers and Kansas City.
FINALLY -![]()
