I know. When they said that Cutler was going to be involved in the search I thought that was curious.

Wonder what Lovie thinks about his QB right about now. Could be good or bad, but I'd like to put a truth serum in Lovie and hear from him. It would probably help to answer some questions for us Broncos fans about Cutler's departure.

Sorry had not heard about jay being involved in the search/interview.

If this is true it make him an even larger prima donna then most of us thought he was.

Was also just made aware that Bates went to SEA in a lessor job rather than re-coach jay as a promotion. Sounds like another nail in his coffin.

Wonder if jay was the real reason in him leaving DEN, and not getting stripped of the play calling duties like was reported.

    I dont know.

On a side note... Elway had "say so" in who coached him.
Thanks MO for the wicked Sig.

I knew this comparison would come up! Elway was the BRONCOS and pretty much earned his say, and Cutler isn't even a squirt of Elway!!

But you're correct that Elway did have his say and influence on the FO!!

I think it has more to do with Lovie Smith's tenuous situation than it does with Cutler.

Have never heard rave reviews about his work ethic and how easy he is to coach.............Any links????

I would imagine his current coaching staff would say how great Cutler is.......but I will check back for those links......

Seems kind of like a below "average" losing qb to me.....

Cutler should coach himself as qb........he wants to do whatever he wants to anyhow......
    My 5 favorite teams:
    1.The Denver Broncos
    2.The Ohio State Buckeyes

You win league MVP and carry the team on your back for years, you should have a say in coaching. You win nothing and are in the 4th year of your career, you do not deserve a say in coaching.

That is sweetening it up a bit but OK. I would think if you traded 2 #1 picks for a guy, you might let him give some input into the type of offense he likes, and thinks he could be successful in.

Cutler would be extremely successful in the NFL if he wasn't allowed to throw the ball in the redzone and could avoid big games at all costs.

You do have a point. But he wanted to have a say in Denver and got all pissed when we let the OC go. But I think Jay COULD be successful in any offense if he got his head right.

I will never fault a guy for thinking loyalty is important.

The only thing I know about John picking his coach was he did not want to go to BAL because of the coach at the time.

And then I know him and Reeves did not get along, so mike was put into place as a buffer between him and dan IIRC dan wanted to do that it was not Johns demands.

But Other than those two issues to my knowledge he has not picked his coaches while under contract.

If that is not what you are talking about please let us all know.

Do you honestly think that Lovie is going to allow jay to tell him what offense and OC he wants, and if he does not like it is jay going to pout till he gets who he wants.

Lovie does not strike me as that kind of coach.

Kinda like why bother with coaches as I'm going to do what I want anyway.
