Why does Norwood, who's still second-string to Dunn, get a "start 'em" against the Minnesota defense?

    Good point.

The reason the coach gave for starting Dunn seemed to do with his veteran leadership more than anything else, so maybe they'll end up using Norwood more, despite the depth chart. Or maybe the writer just wasn't updated, but that's unlikely.

The reason I ask is that I have Norwood on my bench right now. I was planning on keeping him there, but if there's a reason I should start him at flex over Thomas Jones, Joe Horn or Brandon Marshall, I'd definitely like to know it.

Well, I wouldn't know the reason. You have a tough decision there.

If you go with Thomas Jones, he's now in a team that ranked 20 running the ball, and they face NE, who ranked 5 against the run.

If you go with Norwood, he's listed on the depth chart at #2, so there's that. Atlanta was the #1 rushing team last season, but that was with Vick and a different coach. Also, they face the #1 rushing defense last season.

If you go with Marshall, he's a #2 and he's going up against a tough Bills passing D. Also, Denver is a run-first team, specially against a very weak Bills defense against the run.

If you go with Joe Horn, he does go up against what was last season the worst passing defense in the league. The scary part, though, is the guy passing him the ball will be Joey Harrington.

Good luck on what you do.

Decided, with some advice from folks over on Broncomania, to start Jones. That seems like the safest bet and I don't want to risk starting the season with a loss.

Well, after the games, I guess the right move was Marshall. But I would've started Thomas Jones too. I didn't think they'd contain him that well.

At least you didn't go with Horn or Norwood. In one of my leagues, I had Horn in the R/W slot and he netted me less than 1 point ... auugghh.

The sad thing is that Thomas Jones was the least of my problems. I started Steven Inaction Jackson this week.

Well, at least you didn't start Lossman or Favre; on a league I'm in, they scored negative points.
