In this episode Neko and I talk about some of the shows that have been cancelled and renewed on Netflix like Glow and The Witcher. Acting legend Sean Connery passes and its a real bummer so we take a moment to celebrate the man who played James Bond at one point.

Sebastian Bach has always been a drama queen but when he walks out of interview was it a great message he was sending because of the subject matter that he took issue with? Alice Cooper, Lizzy Hale, and more are creating a new show in the vein of American Idol only its going to feature more rock/metal oriented acts who actually perform their own material and not covers. Neko and I discuss why this would be a good thing.

And finally Neko and I discover the wonderful world of "The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell". There was only one season done in 2018 but find out why we believe the work of this lovely lady should have been given more than just one season to showcase her talents at amazing food creations.

In this weeks episode Neko and I talk about the ongoing battle for the white house with the current presidential election and what it means for America. Will things actually get better or will they remain the same for Americans?

Also we discuss the Netflix series "Trial by Media" which focuses on past issues like rape and talk show accountability. Seeing how Chad Dukes was outed from sports talk radio and now the end of Big O and Dukes podcast is PC culture ruined American freedom?

And what is it about the strange world of the octopus? Neko brings us an article of stories where octopi do some of the most ingenious and crazy things. Are they smarter than humans? Maybe. We also give our review of the 2019 movie "Spell" which has a open interpretation of how to deal with loss and love.

In Episode 90 Neko and I discuss what it means to be a metalhead. Is there one specific definition of what a metalhead should be? Is it about a group philosophy or dependent on the mentality of the individual?

We do a review of the Shudder original movie "Lingering" and explain why its a well done movie even though its not necessarily breaking any new ground. In the documentary "All this Mayhem" we learn about the Pappas brothers in the world of skateboarding and whether or not Tas Pappas should be taken at his word about the bias against them or is it straight bitterness when it comes to the rise and fall of the brothers.

And finally Johnny Depp created a franchise with his Jack Sparrow character but is it time for some new blood and a new direction. Find out what Disney is up to since Depp had to step away and whether or not fresh blood will reboot the franchise of "Pirates of the Caribbean".

This week in episode 92 Neko and I give an update on the latest regarding Godzilla vs King Kong as its set to debut on HBO Max. Also, how often do musicians use teleprompters while singing their lyrics? The answer may surprise you.

It would seem that not only Dagon has some controversy surrounding him upon the new Inquisition release. It so happens that H.P. Lovecraft whom is generally universally loved by many has some controversial skeletons in his closet. How does that effect his fanbase?

Finally the rumor mill has it that 10 Cloverfield director Dan Tratchenberg will be directing a new reboot to the Predator franchise. Can he give the series the injection it sorely needs?

Special thanks to Curtain Call, Inverse, Horror Pain, and Metal Devastation Radio for selected tracks this week.

    Northman....

August 2020 was the Nuclear War Now records release of the vinyl split
Enkil demo 1995/ Nephilim Black Earth 1996

I played bass + wrote the lyrics + music in Enkil
Nephilim was my Enkil bandmate + a lead guitarist
who was in Enkil after the 95 demo was recorded.

2021.... My band Epitaph will release the Dawn of the Despised album.

    Doom. Doom. Doom.

My Enkil bandmate Aaron and I formed Epitaph in 1990. Chose to go back to that name when we got back together in 2016.

Aaron is the vocalist, lyricist and guitarist. Synth as well.
Our engineer, Ian, is playing drums on the album.

This was recorded Monday night. I did vocals on this one. It was terrifying. Last did vocals as a 22 year old in 1991. I might do some more in 29 years when I turn 80.

Working title is The Price. Guitar will be added soon.
Album coming out in the spring.

North, you talked about Blood of Zeus, right?

Hey, the giants (ep 1) remind me of Lovecraft's Elder Gods.

In episode #93 we discuss the passing of Mad Max icon Hugh Keays-Byrne and his portrayal of both Toecutter and Immortal Joe. And what are some old school habits that you no longer use or do? We break down some of the ones that Neko and i remember from long ago that no longer exist.

Acting legend Robert England joins the cast of "Stranger Things" for season 4 and we cannot wait! Oh, and you want more Tiger King? Just kidding but there has been a bill passed that will now stop private owners from owning large cats and rightfully so.

We also ask who is the Godfather/Godfathers of metal? Neko and i breakdown some different bands that could have had that title and influence on what we know today. And finally, we discuss why 1999 was the very best in film making and the many great movies to come from that year.

As Neko and I prepare for our "best of 2020" album reviews in the coming weeks we also give a quick update on the status of the Metal Tavern Radio 24/7 stream that has been reignited.

Neko and i also dive into the ever longing debate of Van Halen or Van Hagar? Or Both? Tune in as we give our thoughts on which is better and where we fall on the spectrum of Van Halen's discography. We also bring the sad news of the passing of legendary bassist Sean Malone of Cynic.

Do you think some movies are rated bad but are actually much better than what they have been given? Well, so does That Phat Samurai Guy who breaks some of those movies down on his youtube channel with his special guests Tony of the Dead, Syfy Sentry, and Eric the Asian Movie Enthusiast. Be sure to check out their videos and show them some love.

In tv news we get caught up on a couple of trailers for "Loki" and "Cobra Kai" season 3 as well as talk about the upcoming conclusion to "Vikings" on the history channel and what it has meant to the Noobsman.

    Creating our
EPITAPH - Dawn of the Despised album is a wild ride.

I am PRODUCING the album.... sends chills down my spine.

    The stats :
17 songs (not counting a synth piece a friend on the east coast will send us)

41 minutes long thus far, but that will go up some, as some of the songs get a little longer once we modify a bit when we record bass and drums

    Progress thus far :
    1. The Price - bass/drums/vocals

    2. Descent - bass/drums/vocals

    3. Dark in the Day - song was recorded in 2019 - we will change the title, most likely, but the song is complete

    4. Morose Affliction parts 1 & 2
Song is complete. Bass and vocals only piece.
I recorded the dual bass lines in 1996. Added vocals last weekend.

3 of the other songs just need percussion to be complete.
1 song is an acoustic guitar piece
    1 is bass + synth
1 is a guitar only piece supplied by a friend in Oklahoma - just needs transferred from cd to our engineer's computer

We will knock out at least 1 song bass + drums per weekend
8 more songs to record bass
9 more songs to record drums/percussion

Lots of vocals and guitar left to record and some synth.
Guitar solos will likely be the last thing recorded.

I'm hoping to be done in March.
