That was part of the reasoning, but not all of it.

You're probably referring to my point out that Baltimore used their FB more on the line or in a flood alignment rather than in the backfield...
I really have no idea what you're even arguing. I said we wouldn't use the fullback much and that has proven correct. It's not even disputable at this point.
Edit: I see you were acting like a bit...
I said the Broncos wouldn't use a fullback with the frequency people were expecting. We're now about to be 5 weeks into the season and have only seen a handful of plays with a FB and we just released...
I told people over the offseason that the idea we'd use a fullback outside of obvious short yardage situations was wrong. Clearly, that has turned out to be the case. I wouldn't exactly hold your...
Good article. I think our defensive improvement can be tied to two key things.
- Wade Phillips (and by proxy, better schemes and game planning).
- Replacing Rahim the Mental Midget with Darian...
When the offensive line and shitty offensive schemes sort themselves out, you'll see Manning play much better.
I agree. I think there are a lot of people expecting us to run a lot of two tight end and/or two back personnel sets, but I don't see that happening at all with a supremely talented Latimer joining...
Glad to see they are keeping most of the old verbiage. That will make the transition a lot easier for the players.
If I had my way, I'd resign Quinton Carter and let he, Bruton, and this new guy battle it out.
I think Virgil Green is going to surprise a hell of a lot of people this year. Someone posted the combine results back on page 2, and as noted, Green outperformed Thomas in every measure...
Clearly, you couldn't understand what I posted.
I'd like to see Welker come back on an incentive laden one year deal. He was hanged up last year but he probably still has something in the tank.
Not a typo, just me having a brain fart and mixing up my numbers. Good catch, though.
Makes sense, since Seattle, Dallas and Baltimore were all in and that is basically the entirety of NFL...
I wouldn't count on it. Two back offenses are basically relics in the current NFL and no one in their right mind would move away from 13 personnel as a base package when you have Manning taking snaps.
The idea that Ward was "abused" is really off base. On both of those touchdowns, Ward was literally in Gates' back pocket. Sometimes, there is just nothing you can do.
Ward has played great this year. Why would you not want to have him cover Gronk?
Failing that, Quinton Carter is always a very viable option.
What does Gronk have to do with the Bears offense?
That he is.
Actually, it did. Quinton was pretty effective when covering Gates, and on both touchdown passes Ward had very good coverage but was beat by passes that were incredibly precise and nearly...
I think their weapons are overrated too. Sure, they have two very good receivers but Marshall has been known to go into turtle mode if you start pressing him, and their tight end is nothing special....
I imagine we'll see a lot of dime/sub and big nickel packages with Quinton Carter.
There's a shocker. Cutler laying an egg while getting completely outclassed by Brady.
This show is definitely a re-run, but still very watchable.
Despite all that, we can thank McDaniels for single handedly ridding this team of two of the league's bigger douchebags (three, if you count Scheffler but he was never an important enough player to...
Way to improve that team, Kansas City!
So much hang wringing over a guy who was never even a starter in his entire career. If this was any other forum, I'd be surprised.
