M.I.A. - Kala
But I could easily make a case for The Beatles' Revolver, Weezer's self-titled, Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, and Radiohead's In Rainbows.

"Larks Tongues in Aspic" by King Crimson, c. 1973. In this album Prog Rock hits its apex - it is simply perfect. After 1973 Prog got self indulgent and overwrought, but here is everything it could be at its best. Put on headphones, turn out the lights, pour a good beer and kick back. Its the one album makes me wish I hadn't quit with them left handed cigareetes all those years ago :D

Facelift - Alice in Chains
-
In the running:
Beatles - Let it Be
Smashing Pumpkins - Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
Led Zeppelin - IV
Pearl Jam - Ten
Nirvana - Unplugged
Jay-Z - Blueprint
Dr. Dre - Chronic
Those come to mind for me.
-
Californication, though BloodSugarSexMajik was probably more groundbreaking.
-
Swagger by Flogging Molly
Rum, Sodomy, and the Lash by The Pogues
Can't choose between those two
-
Not sure I could pick one.
Off the top of my head.
Moondance - Van Morisson
The Wall - Pink Floyd
Legend - Bob Marley
Appetite for Destruction - GNR
At Folsum Prison - Johnny Cash
-
A Tribe Called Quest - The Low end Teory
-
Anything by Devin Townsend
-
Not sure my favorite EVER, but some that never leave my playlist are:
Siamese Dream/Mellon Collie - Smashing Pumpkins
Whats the Story? (Morning Glory) - Oasis
Those 3 albums I can listen to back and front. Everything else is just variations of that type of rock.
-
-
Probably The Bends - Radiohead. but it is tough to pick just one.

Robert Johnson - King of the Delta Blues
NOTHING in this thread exists without the influence of the blues master
