And now the raiders are a SERIOUS threat. I know a lot here do not think much of Palmer but I think he is a really good QB. This is probably the last thing I wanted to hear. Hopefully Carson pulls a plummer and stays retired!
The good news is he will more than likely be out of shape and wont know the playbook, but with his arm and all that damn speed the black has. This could be trouble.

They're overpaying... but that was the only way to get Brown to open up the shed he's been hiding Palmer's contract in.

Carson Palmer to the Raiders now official. Compensation expected to be a 1 in 2012 and a conditional 1 in 2013.
Might take him a little bit to get in the groove but from what ive heard Carson stays in shape all the time because he's a workout warrior. They may just get better as i think he is way better than Campbell.

Carson, with some time off, and playing basically back at home could be dangerous. If the Raiders pull this off...look out!

That's how little the league thinks of Orton. Miami was the only interested party before the season, and didn't want to pay him $9 million a year. Now, Raiders could have gotten him for probably a 5th or 6th, and instead get Palmer out of retirement for two firsts.Quote:

Palmer hasn't looked the same since he got hurt. He looked terrible throwing the ball at times last year.

Do the people scared that Palmer will make Oakland legit not remember how Palmer played the past few years in Cincy? He was BAD. Not just mediocre, bad. That combined with his long layoff, I don't see him having any major impact on the Raiders this season.
Funny how someone told me last night Cincy would never give up Palmer. I kind of agreed because usually Brown is a dillweed but getting 2 1sts is awesome for them as they are rebuilding. What Miami's owner said about Orton before cancelling the trade is 100% correct. Orton isnt worth what he was looking for and every team from Arizona-Oakland who needed a QB didnt feel he is a great QB. Last year he played bad. But I wonder how much of that was Palmer trying to play his way out of Cincinatti.
