I just got a PS3, it's still in the box and I haven't even opened it yet.

I was wondering what is the ballpark range of the wifi connectivity?

Thanks and Merry Christmas.

Mine is about 20 feet away so it's relatively close and is fast as lightning. I think it has a pretty good range though. If necessary you could always get a repeater (if lets say your in a two story and your router router is on one floor while PS3 is on another)

Even with a 50% signal you shouldn't experience any lag..

Mine's at about 30 feet from the router, and on the lowest shelf (essentially on the floor), in the middle of our wall unit entertainment center. There's two walls, and a relatively thick-walled wood cabinet from the entertainment center between the router and the PS3, and I get great connections.

Mine is installed horizontially, but if you install it vertically, the wi-fi antenna is on the right-hand side when horizontal, so put that side up, and you will have the antenna at the highest point wherever you happen to install it.

Thanks! I got the 250 gig one and just picked up an HDMI cable. What a difference that made from the pos composite AVs that was included, same one that was in a PS2.
