After his performance on the ground in Week 12, Knowshon Moreno has once again been nominated for the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week award, the NFL announced on Tuesday.
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin, Baltimore Ravens linebacker Paul Kruger and Arizona Cardinals kick returner LaRod Stephens-Howling are the other finalists for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week honors.
Moreno paced the Broncos with 88 rushing yards on 19 carries and scored his fourth touchdown of the season against the New York Giants on Thanksgiving night.
Through his first 11 games on the pro circuit, the University of Georgia product leads all rookies in rushing attempts with 161 and rushing yards with 688.
An NFL Week-12 high 26.3 percent of his runs (5-of-19) went for at least 10 yards against the Giants. During the last three weeks, nearly one of every four runs by Moreno has gone for at least 10 yards for an NFL-best 23.4 percent rate (11-47) over that stretch.
Moreno has posted at least 80 rushing yards three games in a row. During the last three weeks, he leads all NFL rookies and ranks sixth in the NFL with 265 rushing yards and is third in the league in yards per rush with 5.6. He also leads NFL rookies and is third in the league with 15 rushing first downs during that stretch.
Moreno won the weekly award in back-to-back weeks earlier this season, being named Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week following Week 4 and Week 5, respectively.
