Just wondering if this "sickness" is going on in any other part of the country like it is here in Eastern Pennsylvania; comes on quickly; sore throat, earache, sinus pain pressure, congestion sneezing etc. NO ENERGY, achy feeling but with little or no fever. It isn't the flu as far as we know-it's some kind of "virus" that you CAN'T seem to get rid of; me and many others have had it for a month now; one day you feel somewhat better, than you're bad again, etc. It improves somewhat but it doesn't seem to leave!! The doctors really don't seem to have much of an answer for it except for pain pills, rest and antibiotics if you have a bacterial infection. Just curious-it AIN'T FUN!!

I recently came down with something similar to what you describe. I am in SoCal. I hope this doesn't last indefinitely like you are saying. My throat isn't soar but is kind of scratchy.

Sure, but what's really to cover? An RX for Zyrtek every few months. An occasional visit to an ENT when things are really bad. They would cover me going to an allergist but I don't have the time to go and get shots twice a week.

It was a smartass jab at you DC. Good Lord. I leave for a few weeks and all of a sudden you have no sense of humor?
Let me guess your new BF is named Layne?

You took your eggs and you left. Do you really expect me never to find new eggs?

Last month I had severe sinus pain with violent sneezing like I have never experienced before, some lethargic symptoms and achiness, bit of a fever for a day but that's all. It was over in about 3-4 days.

I was and still am surprised I got whatever it was, I rarely ever get sick and take a fist full of vitamins every day.

Sorry if you are feeling anything like it, hope you get better soon. If it provides any comfort to know... I feel GREAT these days! Woohoo!

Thanks for the replies. I do take a load of vitamins everyday including fish oil and vitamin C and recently started taking wild Oregano Oil and Thymus extract for the immune system. I also have to add that I went through a lot of stress right before I got this thing; my close friend and soccer coaching buddy was sick and died 12/16/08 at age 44. I know that knocked the wind out of my immune system's sails; but there are others that have this and didn't experience that! Just gotta keep fightin' it! Good health to you all! :D

I have something like that too - its not to severe at the moment but makes my life uncomfortable - Im takin some high potency antibiotics I hope will help - I cant take this sinus headache anymore - nothing Ive taken so far even touches it :(

We also had this awful stomach virus going around - you were violently ill with "it" coming from both ends simultaneously for about a 12-24 hour period, then it takes like 4-5 days to get back on your feet - 1/2 of the people I know got that the other half got the sinus deal - Im happy I got the sinus deal, I usually end up with the stomach deal

I had it in West Texas before Christmas. Took 3 weeks to get rid of it. Flu shot didn't help me out on that one.

I am getting over it now...

Last Friday it hit me all of a sudden..I was miserable all last weekend. Saturday night I woke up 5-6 times with horrible discomfort..My ears were plugged, absolutely no nose breathing, dry mouth/tongue, headache....It was so bad I ended up taking a shower at 3:30 in the morning...That night was also the anniversary of the devastating Northridge 1994 quake..It happened at 4:30 AM in 94...So it was on my mind that night too. Just a horrible weekend. Glad I'm getting over it.
