Kind of light for an SS, but good speed. Forrmer employer has him projected as a 7th rounder as well.

He better gain a few pounds and improve his coverage skills REALLY fast.

What do you think of Hefney from Tennessee? He's tiny. But he's ranked high for his skills. He's 188 pounds if I'm remembering right.

He weighs 195 and his best 40 time EVER was a 4.9. Tell me how he gets heavier AND faster before the draft.

Yeah...5'9", 185. He's fast, but small for an FS. Good skills though. Tough call unless he ends up playing like a Bob Sanders...but I don't see it.

I think he's a finesse player; not like Sanders. But he was once considered a first round pick for his skills. I think he might be falling, someone to look for if he falls far enough. Still, he's small.

I'll ask one of the scouts where he projects to go in the draft.... I do think he is very good and I can see him go as a 3rd or 4th rounder... probably a 3rd.

4 years of college and all he can muster is 4.9 and 195 lbs. I just don't see him adding 15-20 pounds and running a 4.4 in 3 months.

Typo on my part. His best 40 time is a a 4.49...his worst is a 4.59. I'd expect him to run somewhere in between, but if he adds 15-20 pounds, it may go up.

Not at a desired weight of a SS...just my opinion.

Thats not slow is right, especially if hes a guy who plays fast in pads.

Big diff.

Short of anabolic steroids and HGH, I don't see it happening either.

funny, that's exactly what came to my mind as well. . . when guys suddenly come in to the combine weighing 20 pounds heavier than they ever have before, but run faster and/or lift more, that's generally not a good sign-- call it the "shawne merriman syndrome". . .

Oh I don't know. . . some guys just work really hard. Philip Wheeler put on about 10-12 pounds from what he was originally listed at on GT's website in order to be a MIKE at the next level, and I'm pretty confident Wheeler wouldn't do roids. Well, maybe he does - because he's beating the piss out of everyone in Mobile.
