We might as well get this started. Hopefully Simms can step in and do the job. When you get first team snaps it does make world of difference in preping for a game. Also I hope the defense can get back to its stingy ways of life. Here's to a Denver Broncos victory and no (further) injuries. :salute:

Defense is going to have to win this game again. Thats going to be HUGE for this team, and this game. Can't put the game on the backs of our offense and 'hope.' We'll ahve to win it by not letting other teams score points.

I've gotten to see McCluster play in person about 4 or 5 times. He's probably the most talented player in college football, he's just been grossly underused by the Ole Miss coaching staff. I am no Ole Miss fan at all but he's fun to watch play.

Given how the last 3 weeks have gone it's kinda hard to argue with them right now. I hope we prove them wrong too but it's hard to say they're not justified in pumping up the Chargers and being down on the Broncos this week..

I think the defense should feel a sense of responsability today. Dawkins, Bailey, DJ, Dre, Doom, heck Fields, need to know that this will have to be the game that they play lshut down football, Rivers can't go off, no Vincint Jackson down field, no Sproles running wild with LT finding a groove. Get off the field on thrid downs and no back breakers 25+ yards!

With the Giants game on Thanksgiving I think Orton is on the self. So Simms has his chance to show he is more then a clip board holder he can do what is expected and step up in the clutch. Week full of snaps so no more excuses he was just thrown into the fire.

GO BRONCOS!

It's not that and I can't disagree with you. But what is it about the Chargers and their unis that they seem to always favor them and are always on their jock, no matter what team they play.

A loss would suck, but if we do lose I want it to be close. The way I figure it we just need to win 4 more games for a good shot at the playoffs, and the way Philly and NY are looking thats very possible. A loss at home to SD isn't the end of the world, but a win would go a looong way towards a great instead of just a good season. Having this game at Invesco is huge, IMO. At least we already beat them at their house.

For some reason, I see Knowshon having a breakout game. We'll see in a few short hours. Definitely a big test against a great team, though. Time to see what we are made of!

I'm really discouraged. Simms to start? What a joke. Think the 5 1/2 point Vegas line in favor of the Chargers today is really conservative considering--hard not to expect a total utter blowout. It's not like Invesco has much of a home field advantage due to factors posters have pointed out at length in other posts. Am surprised the line isn't at least 10.

The season ended IMO last week. That pathetic loss to Washington was the exact type of performance this coaching change was supposed to prevent. That makes the experiment for now a failure. Perhaps they win that game if Orton plays 4 quarters but it looked like the team was going to lose that game regardless.

Today will be a familiar ass-whipping at the hands of the Chargers to complete the collapse. This is one movie I'm sick of watching.

It's not too soon to discuss what QBs might be available in next year's draft.

Official Site says that Hillis has been in some two back sets with Moreno. No word as to why Ayers was inactive, but I have noticed a cyclical nature of inactives amongst rookies and younger players. Perhaps the coaches saw some weakness in the way Ayers played defense against the Chargers, maybe he wants to give someone else opportunity. We'll see.

The only chance the Broncos have is to run the ball. Over, and over and over. When they HAVE to pass, it needs to be PA. On defense they can't sit back. Blitz, blitz, and blitz some more. I'd rather give up the potential home run and at least hit Rivers a couple times than be picked apart.

NFL'S "third-quarterback" rule -- sometimes misunderstood:

Seventeen years ago (1991) the third-quarterback rule was instituted to enable teams to have an emergency quarterback available who was not on the 45-man game-day active roster, since many teams, for strategic purposes, only carried two quarterbacks on their game-day roster.

Everybody thinks they understand the NFL's "third-quarterback" rule. But do they?

The rule states that if a third quarterback is inserted before the fourth quarter, a team's first two quarterbacks cannot be used in the game at any position.

Another aspect of the rule is sometimes misunderstood. It is a coach's decision as to whether a third quarterback will be used.

The active quarterbacks do not have to be injured for a team to use its third quarterback.

We have to blitz. We can't just sit back. The only way we win this game is if we run the ball down their throats on offense, and blitz on defense and hope for some turnovers.
