Who Do You Want in the New Banner?

due to numerous requests, we are going to change the banner that appears at the top of the site-- what player or players do you want to have in the new banner?


I just want to give a quick shout out and thanks to Dream for the original. He came through with some graphics early on when we needed them. I think 'Javon' has worn out his welcome ;), but we are all grateful to Dream for the work on the current one, and my 'banner' add that I run on Broncos07.com pointing here.

As to the player, since I have always been a big fan of the Monkeys, I will have to go with Jay, as he looks like he would make a great Monkey!

I like option 2 also. I also like the idea of present and the past players. For the present I picked Cutler, Marshall, Bailey and I think we should include Elam. He has been a part of the organization for a long time, dependable and won a lot of games for a lot of years. For the past I like Elway, Meck and Gradishar. Good one DN an E for Elway:D

I think if we keep it under 750 wide, then it will fit nicely for people with 800x600 resolutions. I would think no more than 200 wide, but possibly less, so the graphic doesn't dominate and take up too much real estate.

I just tried changing my settings to 800x600. Good gravy that's huge. But I think at that setting, the dimensions shouldn't be more than 700x150. If the height is much more, it would take up a lot of the screen.

I don't think google analytics or any other logging will tell me screen resolution, but I will check. I know that based on people I know, quite a few people still use 800x600.

It would take rotating banners. Or, a single banner, with rotating images on both sides of it. However, rotating banners would be better.

Not sure how it would look, but could also do something like:

XXXXYYYYYYYYYYYZZZZ

Where X is above, have an image with just BroncosForums in it
Where YYY is, have an image with a player or players -- There could be multiple variations of this that rotate
Where zzzz is, have more text, like for the fans/by the fans.

Or

I think it looks good. For people with lower res settings, the 260 might be a bit tall as it would take up about 1/3 (or more) of the vertical height on about 50% of the people that connect (42% are 1024x768 and 8% more at 800x600).

I think the 200 that BM uses should be the max, and possibly less for that 50% running relatively low res.

I definitely like the idea of the players changing and rotating - then there could be past and present players, and Dream I definitely like the idea of honoring Darrent and Damien with their numbers on it :salute:

Your banner looks great Dream.. I also really like Reid's banner. (The one we have now) If I had to pick one I would pick Reids because he has Elway in his.

What I think would be cool is if we had rotating Banners that featured past and present players. We could group them together by decade. 60s,70s,80s,90s, and today. Elway would of course be in both the 80s and 90s banner's. The 80's banner could be of the team with the old unies and the 90's would be the new unies,

I would love to see one with Elway, Mecklenburg, Atwater, Watson, Fletcher, in the old orange and blue (80s). They are who I grew up with and I have found memories of those players playing in the old unies. Then we could have one from the 90's with Elway, Davis, Smith, Sharp, Eddy Mac, in the new unies. I will leave the suggestions for the 60s and 70s banners to those who were fans then. And we could have our top players of today on the 00 banner.

IMO, this is the best way to accommodate all our members. I think everyone would be happy with this?

If we come up with multiple banners, they can be rotated. Such as one current offensive, one current defensive, one honoring the SB wins, etc.

Or, come up with a single banner.

I think the rotating banners would be great, and I would like a few honoring past great players starting back as far as Floyd Little.

You know it's kind of amazing that in a little over 6 months we went from having one legend and 4 current, to 2 current and 3 legend. What a business.
