So, Would you use a BroncosForums chatroom?

If we integrate a chat room into BroncosForums.com would you use it? Do you see this is a useful feature or a novely that won't be used?

I voted no tned...the only time I think the chat room at the Freak was ever used was the draft last year.

I think MB's right and most of the members went back to the thread after a few minutes.

I would use it, but only if MB agrees to post more pics of himself in his jammies

Ummm...probably not.

I know on mania (BM), it was used very little. I think there was a small contingent that used it, but I don't think it was many people. However, I figured I should ask, as it is a fairly easy add-on if it would be used.

I got lost in the chat room on the Freak once. It was cold and lonely.

I would ...

Gamedays in the BM chatroom are the best ... there alot of fun. It's alot easier than a thread ... it just flows smoother IMO. CinnaMunMun called it 'instant gratification' ... could'nt have said it better myself ...

Before I give yes or a no I'm curious how exactly would a chatroom would be different than the message board?

I was in the BroncosFreak chat room a few times. Once was with Nut and Slim. I was very uncomfortable.

Why were you uncomfortable? You need to learn to relax and just let things flow.

It's instant ... without 'refreshing' or clicking on the next page ...

It would be a live chat, with users listed down the left side and everything typed scrolling in a single window, real time. Like MSN or Yahoo messenger, but with a group of people, not just two. Here are a few examples:

Here is the BM one (login with your BM account)
http://web.denverbroncos.com/chat/final/index_login.php

Here are two that can be integrated so that you just click a link and you are in the chat with your username, no need for an extra login.

For this demo, just type a name in the username and leave password blank:

http://www.lindylove.net/demo/chat/index.php

For this one, click "guest" and enter just a user name and then login, then cliick on that first chat room.

I voted no because for me the chat room moves too fast. I can't keep up with the words scrolling past. Of course I can't keep up with the game thread either so maybe I'm a little slow. I can skip a few posts in the thread or just scan them real quick and read the ones that catch my attention. The chat just keeps on going and going and going. :elefant:

Tned...I did use the one at BM once in awhile.Cinny and the Rev were
mods in it.The problem I have with it is if you get alot of people in a
chatroom...its hard to keep up with the conversation...well it was for me
anyway.

But one thing I did like about the chatroom is you could have a private chat with someone
even with a group of people in it...kind of like Instant Message.

I didnt vote....cause I am not sure if I would use it or not.

One other thing ... if you are'nt able to get the game in your area on T.V. ... i know in the BM chat there is always someone doing the play-by-play. Living on the East Coast and no Dish ... this is a Godsend ...

If it doesn't cost you (tned) anything (or very little) I don't see why not...

BroncoJoe

Absolutely. We'll have to do it without Beef knowing. He would be very disruptive.

This has come up again as a suggestion, so I am simply bumping this poll. If you haven't voted, please do so, if you have a different opinion now, create a post saying so and just post any other comments you have about a chat room.

BroncoBJ

I would like one. But I can see why some people wouldn't want one because then thier post count wouldnt' go up as much.

still not something that i would use, but if other people are interested i can't see any reason not to have it (unless it would make the board slower, which i kinda doubt). . .

I would use it during game days...I hate posting something real good, then it gets buried without being read.

It depends on what posters are posting.

Probably not though.

I'd just enable the feature (as long as it doesn't slow things down or is too complicated) because during the Draft -- I'm sure we'd get a lot of people in there like on the Mane. I prefer the threads for Game Day though.

On the freak, the chat room was REALLY popular on gamedays. Its a lot quicker posting and whatnot. Aside from gameday we didnt really use it that much, but I'd love it for gameday.

I've been thinking about this....

I can't say that I wouldn't... so having the option wouldn't necessarily not be nice. (love the multiple negatives)

Mania has one... and I've checked it out at times... the thing that turned me off of it though was more the fact that the people that used it weren't regular MB members... it was a completely separate group. Is it possible that Broncos Forums also has a bunch of lurkers who would use a chat room?!?!

During the game, I noticed that there were 12 guests watching the gameday thread at one point....

I use it on gamedays and if I'm bored I drop into it randomly during the week.

It's a nice feature.
