NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The Tennessee Titans' passing game was in the lower ranks of the NFL to begin with. Now they go into the first round of the playoffs having lost two of their top three receivers in as many days.

First, it was tight end Bo Scaife out with a lacerated liver. Now, receiver Roydell Williams broke his right ankle in practice, and they already had lost receiver Brandon Jones to a groin injury Dec. 15.

Titans don't have much of a chance in SD. That really hurts

Wonder how much that really hurts them though?

Maybe this will force VY to quit trying so hard to use his arm and start using what makes him special.....his legs.

Good, this should force them to just run the ball and don't get cute.

SD is catching a lot of breaks here "literally". So unfortunate.

I'm afraid that it looks fairly easy for them this week with Titans dropping like flies and VY gimpy. All they need is to cheap shot VY a good one and they'll have to play Collins.

Someone said yesterday Collins is a 'racist.'

What was that about?

Battles with alcoholism

Before the 1997 season got underway, Collins' private battle with alcoholism started to make public headlines. Collins threw 21 interceptions during the 1997 season and the Panthers finished 7-9, just one season after advancing to the NFC Championship. Collins was placed on waivers by Carolina during the 1998 season and subsequently signed by the New Orleans Saints. On November 2, 1998 Collins was arrested for drunk driving in Charlotte, North Carolina. He finished the 1998 campaign in New Orleans and signed with the New York Giants as a free agent on February 19, 1999.

[edit] Offensive Language/Drunken Incident

In a highly publicized incident, on the last night of Carolina Panthers training camp in 1997 Collins used the offensive racial slur "******" in reference to Black teammate Muhsin Muhammad while in a drunken state at a bar in Spartanburg, SC(Although these claims have not been verified.) Supposedly, Collins also inadvertently slurred offensive lineman Norberto Garrido, who is of Hispanic descent. This resulted in Collins being punched in the eye by Davidds-Garrido. Collins had stated, in an intoxicated state, that he thought the use of the racial epithet would help him and his teammates bond.

Wow...nice.

I remember the drunkard stuff (Griese's mentor maybe?), but not the other.

Classy guy...

Yeah, so if they lose the game now that would be pathetic.

It is when you're the Titans; their receivers, even when healthy, are experts at dropping passes. Vince Young also sometimes tries to hard to prove he's a passing quarterback. Now if Kerry Collins was their starter, that's different; their passing offense gets much better.

More important than their receivers is their defense, as well as their rushing offense; whether Albert Haynesworth can play at 100% is the difference between them having a great rush defense and a mediocre rush defense. Way more important than their passing offense.

The weather could play a big factor as it might rain during the game. We got rain all day today and it is expected to rain through Monday, so things could get interesting.
