Welcome to the first ever Broncos Forums Post season Pick 'em Challenge Wild card round. Everyone is invited to play and have fun.

Summery of rules:
We are picking against/with the spread.
The spread that is listed at the time of this post stands all week.
There will be no ties 1/2 will be added to all favored spreads to prevent this.
The favored team must win by more then the spread.
The underdog must lose by more then the spread.
Predict the score for both the winning and losing teams.
You will receive 1 point for every correct pick.
You will receive 1 point for correctly predicting any and all scores.
Sundays AFC game score prediction will be used as a tiebreaker.
If you've played the pick 'em previously and have since changed your username, please indicate in your post who you were previously.

*** Important ***

When posting your picks:
List the scores for both the winning and losing teams for every game.
Remember, you are picking the spread. Your score predictions will be used to determine if you feel a team will cover the spread, Do not just post who you think will win the game. Leave both teams listed in your post with each teams predicted score.
"-" = the favored team and the amount you are giving up by picking that team
"+" = the underdog and the amount you get by picking that team
Keep the order in which the games are listed.
Any post or post-edit after the first kickoff will receive an automatic DQF

If You missed Saturdays game's you can still make your picks on the remaining games as long as you get the picks in before the games start on Sunday.

If this is the case, Do not post your picks for Saturdays games. I do not want to have to check the post date on every ones picks. If I find a post that has been made after Saturdays game with a prediction for the winning teams that post will be DQ and none of the picks will count.

This is all for fun guys/gals but Please follow these rules.

Your post should look something like this.

But heres my picks sir:

Your right!

picking the spread makes it way more complicated then it should be.

I really tride to make it simple and explain everything but with all the + - crap it is a little hard to read. I could have just listed the spread next to the favorites?

I was worried about people not understanding the spread and picking wrong if I did that. The reason we have to leave both teams listed is because one might pick a team to lose the game but beat the spread or vise verse, For example, the Bolts are favored by 8 1/2 if someone picks them to win by 7 they are picking the Titans, They will get a point if the Titans win the game or lose by less then 8 1/2.

Again I was worried people might only list the Bolts because they picked them to win the game.

You don't have to Bold or Color the teams you think will win/beat the spread. I can figure all that by your score prediction when I put your predictions in the spreadsheet. If someone picks a team to win by less then the spread they are picking the other team. Its really as simple as that.

Everything comes down to the score predictions for both teams. :salute:

If anyone has any ideas how to list the picks with spread where it doesn't seem so confusing, please post your ideas Here (http://broncosforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6911) We all can discus your ideas. If they will work we can apply them to next week

I read the CP you sent me. I actually never have picked against the spread before. I'm just really good at math and I picked up on the rules fairly easily by reading your post. And I figured adding bold and color was a nice touch. :elefant:

Yea I do spread for college football so I know how to do it.
I'm just not use to seeing the + and - and teams giving and recieving.

It seems easier when I do it on Yahoo.
All that other stuff is just wack.
I understand it but its still wack

FC, If I've understood, if Tennessee wins or loses with less than 8 1/2, I've got a point?

Damn... The picks are tough... Steelers-Jags is very tough... What about the Giants? Will they play like they did against the Pats or like they did (badly) against some other teams?
I think Redskins have the Momentum... Will it be enough???

Thank you for this funny thread !

Yes that's right, If Ten wins or if they lose by less then 8 1/2 points you get 1 point. That's how picking the spread works. You aren't picking the winner of the game. You are picking against the spread.

With your pick of Ten 17 SD 24 you are predicting SD will not cover the spread. Therefore you are picking TEN.

The other games are tuff to pick, the spreads are pretty small because they really could go either way.
